The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

I chose between Canon EF 24-70f (2.8L USM) and this model. Having lost in aperture ratio, I received a larger range of focal lengths and decent cost savings. The lens stands on the Canon EOS550D crop as a staff member, suitable for all types of shooting, for all occasions: "And to the feast, and to the world, and to good people." You can fight all his "childhood illnesses": by holding down the aperture, raising the ISO, and yes, the professionals will forgive me: Flash has not been canceled…

Pros
  • Fast and tenacious autofocus, sharp, fairly wide range of focal lengths, good color reproduction, excellent picture when shooting video, build quality, fast motor, smooth running, comfortable, stabilizer, appearance, reasonable price.
Cons
  • Aperture, often lacks a wide angle.

The price/quality ratio is great, I will buy again.

External puff is needed, because. at 24mm, a shadow from the lens hood remains in the frame - but these are trifles, a protective filter is also needed, because. The 77mm lens just begs to be scratched)))). There is a small back focus, I will adjust it programmatically through 50D. I have long wanted to buy this glass for myself. Convenient focal length, easy in comparison with other L-kami - analogues. That min. FR-24, so it suits me quite well, because I don’t need a pronounced barrel on a…

Pros
  • IS, FR, weight, L-ka, constructive Dust and moisture protection (rubber seal on the bayonet). bokeh.
Cons
  • Funny hood. If you shake well, then the trunk leaves))), but this is already extreme. A tight zoom ring, but for me it's not a minus.

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

the red strip L is given undeservedly, in general, everything that is darker than 2.8 should not be awarded L! I use technology professionally, I think that high-quality optics should be plastic (read fast). This lens, according to the "none" pattern, does not roll on artistic pictures under any sauce. The exception is shooting in the studio, when you need to "so that everything is sharp" . Well, travel.

Pros
  • Sharp at F4, little chromate, station wagon
Cons
  • F4 is categorically dark, bokeh blurring and drawing are much worse than budget fixes.

The best thing I've ever used, I recommend it to everyone!

bought instead of 15-85, which cost me 22k. This one came out in 28k. to be honest, I thought that I was changing the awl for soap, but the difference turned out to be so huge that absolutely everyone noticed it with absolutely naked eyes. not always a plus, in fact, not everyone likes portraits now, all the small hairs on the face, all the wrinkles and so on have become visible. I use 60D on the crop, the focal length at the end is 170mm and f4, the portraits are gorgeous.

Pros
  • colors, sharpness at f4, focal lengths, workmanship
Cons
  • noisy stabilizer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Feel free to buy, for such a price, the quality is simply amazing.

Great lens for all occasions! Its main advantage is versatility. I used to use it with 400D, now I use it with 5D mark II. Of course, this lens is designed for full frame, but at such a high resolution (22MP) chromatic aberration is noticeable. I think if you use it with a device with a lower resolution (for example, 5D), then this problem will not be. Despite the minor flaws, very pleased with it, not going to change it anytime soon!

Pros
  • First of all, versatility, suitable for most occasions. Fast ultrasonic focus. Dust-moisture-proof (repeatedly removed them in light rain, everything is ok). Good clarity and color reproduction for such a zoom. The stabilizer is just great!
Cons
  • There are few of them: - Chromatic aberration is quite strong if you shoot full frame at 22MP resolution) - The absence of a zoom ring lock at the initial position of 24mm (the lens falls out under its own weight, although the ring moves quite elastic, but not tight (as it should be))

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

This is a great professional reportage lens. I like it because of its versatility, reliability and predictable results. I saw reviews here complaining about "unsharpness" - guys, there are no unsharp lenses in Canon's professional line. After the purchase, any autofocus glass must be dragged to the official service for alignment along with the "carcass"! The stabilizer is excellent, it fully compensates for the "darkish" f/4 aperture. I recommend it to everyone - for full frame and crop - as

Pros
  • color, sharpness, stabilizer
Cons
  • No

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very high quality product, it's not the first time I bought it.

I shot a lot on it, both on the street and in the studio and reporting . the amount of marriage was reduced almost to its absence, it focuses smartly, unlike my other glasses (18-55, 50 \ 1.8, 55-250) misses 1 per hundred. and that is my fault. Alas, the sharpness is not enough . the colors are good. Ergonomics are on top, but the zoom ring could have been made thicker. I took a new one, made firmly, the rings go tight. Heavy but that's just +

Pros
  • focal lengths, USB, stub, tenacious almost 100% focus hit.
Cons
  • even on the crop in the corners you can see a drop in sharpness, I expected better.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

There are a lot of comments, as I understand it, from experienced seasoned photographers who often find fault with this glass, confusing beginners like me. I tell the same beginners - this is a great glass! I shoot on 500D - the difference between a whale lens and this one is indescribable. Those. Feels like it's 2 different cameras. The lens is pleasant to the touch, focuses quickly and almost never misses, excellent colors, sharpness, fairly high (compared to a whale) aperture and a…

Pros
  • Bright, clear picture; wide range of FR; quality performance.
Cons
  • The price confuses a little, but it is adequate for the quality

Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

I use it on crop, the range of focal lengths covers almost all needs. For interior shooting there is a width. Most of the time, this lens is on the carcass. Sharpness is very good, although worse than that at 70-200/4 IS. The lens hood is not the most successful, in my opinion, it should have been made deeper, although in FF it could have entered the frame. I can’t share such enthusiastic reviews about this lens - rather, it’s just a good, solid lens for every day, not much outstanding, but at…

Pros
  • Cutting Good vibrant colors Quality manufacturing
Cons
  • Unsuccessful hood (for crop)

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are deviations, generally tolerable.

I'll tell you in detail here. I switched to it immediately with the purchase of FF after the crop: I purchased it in a kit configuration from 6d. Before that it was 600d and 17-55,2,8. I expected a huge difference, but despite the fact that I am very impressionable, I was even disappointed: after the first wedding he shot, almost all the pictures taken indoors went to the marriage. There are more stray colors than when using a cropped kit. Some gray shades come out where they were not there…

Pros
  • Focal length range
Cons
  • Colors, ha.

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

A normal workhorse, in fact, they can be used both as a portrait painter and as a landscape painter and as a telephoto camera, in fact glass for all occasions. Took for weddings, photo shoots and "cultural photography". In fact, the best of the "universal lenses". Of course, there is the next move 24-70 F4 IS, perhaps the next move, but the overpriced price is IMHO too much, and the reviews about it are ambiguous, and it also has flaws, so if we put the hierarchy of Kenon universal lenses…

Pros
  • a good picture, only good fixes are better, easily correctable chromatism, unlike many other glasses, the presence of a stabilizer, which helps out both in the photo and in the video. Suitable for both crop and full frame, i. E. what is called a lens for growth. It looks very solid, heavy with a red stripe, you feel that you have high-quality optics in front of you, and not budget whale junk.
Cons
  • Sometimes soaps on a long focus, 24 on a crop - the width of the corner is not enough

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

I have long wanted to write about this lens. I think that one of the most underrated Canon lenses. The lens is only for full-frame cameras - that's for sure! He owned a crop - the lens was at the level of a cheap whale zoom. On the full frame, the picture appeared, and sharpness, and bokeh - in short, all the strengths. It is indispensable as a universal reportage and studio zoom for both the photographer and the videographer. This is my very first lens that I bought for crop. And the only one…

Pros
  • - Fast and accurate autofocus - Excellent reliable design (dust and moisture protection, metal case) - Universal focal lengths (I shot absolutely everything on it, from macro and portraits to studio shooting and of course reports). - Great for both photos and videos - The presence of an image stabilizer (fotkal with hands at 1/10 - no blurring), for videos in general no comments, a thing is simply necessary - Good sharpness, not inferior to fixes (which are not Elks) at similar aperture values - Color rendition (color juicy, saturated, a minimum of "stray" colors) - Works great with backlight
Cons
  • For the price, I'm afraid they don't. To swear at sharpness - it is very good for a zoom (if a normal instance). Aperture f4 - well, guys, here the price is correspondingly small for an elka. Oh yes, a trunk moving under its own weight - there is such a thing, it doesn’t annoy me)

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is top notch and I recommend the product for purchase.

"wider! and longer!" - for dilettantes. "Not a big aperture"? 4 - relative hole. What's this? Not everyone knows. "Despite the presence of a stabilizer, it is better not to use it." Pearl on pearl! Illiterate, funny. Whether you need this lens or not is up to you. No one is allowed to try before buying. Ask the professionals? There is only one answer: - "How without it?"

Pros
  • Light enough, autofocus is very smart and accurate!
Cons
  • What can be the disadvantages if you choose consciously?

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

The lens is great. In reportage shooting is irreplaceable. In portraits, she is sharp and plastic. This is my third L-ka - having tried L once, it is already impossible to refuse. Many people write about the instability of the quality. Perhaps I was lucky, but I deliberately took it from the whale, it turned out to be sharp from 4 and without fronts and backs in the entire range! The stabilizer helps a lot - if the object is motionless, then I get a cut of 1/13, of course, from my hands. I use…

Pros
  • Versatility, razor sharpness, excellent color reproduction.
Cons
  • Chromatitis, however, chokes on software in 1 click

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for me, I was satisfied with the price.

It makes sense to buy this lens for full-frame shooters, or for those who plan to switch to it soon. For those who stop at the crop, there is an excellent 17-55 / 2.8 IS lens. Both 24-xx L-zooms lose their wide angle on the crop, which makes them unsuitable for “regular” use. 24-105 makes sense to compare only with 24-70, as it is the closest to it in class and price. It is not worth comparing it with budget zooms like 28-135, this is a technique of a different class, therefore, in the pros…

Pros
  • Universal reportage lens, covers 3/4 of all focal lengths of the average amateur photographer. An optical stabilizer that really helps. Reasonable size and weight (compared to 24-70). Constant aperture, at f / 4 quite sharp in the center at all focal lengths. At 24mm it's sharp enough across the field already at f/4 (noticeably sharper than 24-70 at f/4). No backlash in the extended trunk compared to 24-70. Dust and moisture protection, reliable design, however, given the price and positioning of this prof. the lens cannot be otherwise.
Cons
  • Noticeable 24mm barrel. Distortion is noticeably higher than that of 24-70. Sharpness is rather weak at short focusing distances, although the word Macro is present on the lens. Almost useless lens hood (included). The petal hood is worn on the trunk and is therefore only effective at 24 mm. As the lens turns into a telephoto, the efficiency is close to zero, it will not even protect the front lens from fingers. At 24-70, the hood is effective on all FRs, although its size with the hood on puts people around in a panic, which often limits its use. At FR 35-70 mm, sharpness is inferior to 24-70

I am happy with everything, the product matches the description.

Bought in tandem with 5D Mark II and shot for six months. As a travel zoom, it is good, versatile, covers the current focal lengths. But from the point of view of creative photography, I like luminous lenses more. So I sold it and bought a 135mm f/2. The role of the staffer is played by 50mm f / 1.4, so aperture 4 was simply not enough for me, and I am a supporter of fixes. When buying, he was paired with a mark at a good discount, otherwise he would not have bought for that kind of money

Pros
  • - build quality - universal - sharp
Cons
  • - the price is not justified - the retractable part is not at all useful - small aperture

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

My copy is 5 years old - there is not a speck of dust and I shot it in the rain, everything is fine. I recently switched from 60D to 6D and the problem with aperture ratio has practically disappeared (FF is FF). If a responsible frame, make sure and shoot in the RAF in parallel. There is also fifty dollars 1,4, but you won’t achieve ringing sharpness from it, as from 24-105 even in manual mode and in RAF, you can tighten up the color rendition no worse than fifty dollars, so 95% use it (5%…

Pros
  • Cutting. price, versatility and stabilizer, if not very dark amazing speed with almost no crashes. For video, it's great.
Cons
  • The trunk leaves, but unfortunately leaves, but this is not critical, on the crop it is a little dark, but also not critical.

A wonderful product, its nice to use.

a month ago I bought a 50D kit EF-S 18-200 3.6-5.6 IS a month later I realized that my 18-200 (I can’t say anything bad about it) does not reach the sharpness that I would like. sold them within a few weeks and took EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM instead. It was difficult, of course, to move from 200 mm to 105 mm, especially since I am fond of reportage shooting. I even thought about taking 24-70, but it's already too short (for me personally) and even without a stabilizer. but, in general, the…

Pros
  • range of focal lengths, poor aperture, design, sharpness (I really like sharp objects) quick transition to MF. universal reporter and of course a stabilizer
Cons
  • until I noticed - everything is very satisfied

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

The lens is good, but I want to draw attention to the problem with the stabilizer. Maybe it's just my lens. With the aperture (4) open, the stabilizer works as it should. If we set the aperture to any other value, for example 10, then the images with the stabilizer on are blurred. Pictures with IS off are generally better than those with IS on. The image in the viewfinder after each shot is shifted to the side and its stabilizer, within 1 second after the shot, returns to the original focus…

Pros
  • Versatility
Cons
  • Stabilizer problem (see comments).

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

I have been using the 5D for about 2 years. I took it from a friend, and in the fall I bought it for myself. My friend, in the presence of a very large fleet of lenses, completely refused to sell me his own. I took a used lens via the Internet with a production date just February 2022, when, according to reviews, there were complaints about the work of the stub. A comprehensive check did not reveal any shortcomings, the glass is absolutely working. I took a Canon EF 28-135mm f / 3.5-5.6 IS USM…

Pros
  • Versatility. Ease. Sharpness. Stab. Comparative speed and accuracy of focusing.
Cons
  • Compared to the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, the picture is less lively, less artistic. On some scenes, "ugly" bokeh comes out.
