A good product, I advise you to try it.

Choose from several in the store (!) This is not the L-ka that will shoot on the F4 frames that are pleasant to the eye in every respect and not the 70-200 F4IS, for example, the frames from which breathe air and ring with sharpness. But having 24-105 90% of the time is much better than not having any frame while you climb for the right lens. (Total: a solid four, maybe even with a plus).

Pros
  • Versatile which is a plus. Suitable for the role of staff. Lightweight (compared to 24-70L as a popular alternative). Stabilizer (albeit the previous generation).
Cons
  • Universal and from this minuses follow. These are geometric distortions at the far end, strong chromatic aberrations (3-4 pixels thick), on a 21MP FF sensor the lens works at the resolution limit. A "vacuum cleaner" type design with a moving front lens, it's a pity that the design did not allow to make a completely closed case. "Bokeh" is a kind of computer, calculated, inanimate. Slightly overrated.

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

I have long wanted to write about this lens. I think that one of the most underrated Canon lenses. The lens is only for full-frame cameras - that's for sure! He owned a crop - the lens was at the level of a cheap whale zoom. On the full frame, the picture appeared, and sharpness, and bokeh - in short, all the strengths. It is indispensable as a universal reportage and studio zoom for both the photographer and the videographer. This is my very first lens that I bought for crop. And the only one…

Pros
  • - Fast and accurate autofocus - Excellent reliable design (dust and moisture protection, metal case) - Universal focal lengths (I shot absolutely everything on it, from macro and portraits to studio shooting and of course reports). - Great for both photos and videos - The presence of an image stabilizer (fotkal with hands at 1/10 - no blurring), for videos in general no comments, a thing is simply necessary - Good sharpness, not inferior to fixes (which are not Elks) at similar aperture values - Color rendition (color juicy, saturated, a minimum of "stray" colors) - Works great with backlight
Cons
  • For the price, I'm afraid they don't. To swear at sharpness - it is very good for a zoom (if a normal instance). Aperture f4 - well, guys, here the price is correspondingly small for an elka. Oh yes, a trunk moving under its own weight - there is such a thing, it doesn’t annoy me)

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

I bought this lens on the EOS 5D as a combat landscape lens, to replace the EF 24-70 / 2.8L (the one did not suit me with its weight and lack of a long focus). The lens has already performed well on several trips, now I have moved it to the new EOS 6D. The sharpness of the lens is high, subjectively higher than that of the 24-70 (and is approximately equal to 50/1.4 @ f/8). The stabilizer generally helps, but is not a panacea - the risk of movement still remains. But with a stabilizer, you can

Pros
  • High sharpness, good FR range, fast AF, stabilizer, reasonable size and especially weight, moisture protection.
Cons
  • Very strong distortion and vignetting at full frame with FR = 24-35 mm, uneven vignetting, sucks dust.

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

The lens is needed by all those who travel and do not want to carry a suitcase with equipment or as a staff member for an advanced amateur or even a professional. My friend many times urged me to take only with a fixed focus - they are better in sharpness, this is indisputable, but I personally am not ready to take and drown several lenses in the river on a trip with a cost of fifty kopecks each. and fixes are for the studio, I personally do not care (at least now).

Pros
  • Price, versatility, quality. Size is important. fits in the smallest shockproof and waterproof box I bought the other day
Cons
  • not found in this category. After reading the complaints in other reviews, I immediately checked "lathers at 4" - does not lather, "loses sharpness at the edges" - reliably checked when removing the grid - does not lose sharpness. Regarding the problems with the "stabilizer" - so far everything is in order. I hope it doesn’t break as it broke on my sigma 18-200

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't expect the quality to be so high.

The lens is very pleased. It gives an excellent, rich picture, it is not in vain that it wears the letter L. It has a very tenacious autofocus (even at dusk it starts to act up almost in complete darkness). It shoots excellently outdoors, but indoors the weak aperture makes itself felt. I think it will be ideally used in a duet with a fixed 50 f / 1.4 street-indoor. He loves hares, so I don’t recommend using it without a hood.

Pros
  • Color reproduction, large FR coverage, sharpness, IS-often saves.
Cons
  • f/4 Catching hares

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

After I bought this lens and took the first photos with it, I was very disappointed in it, with an open aperture, the photos came out cloudy and dark. I began to understand what was the matter, read various articles and reviews, tested it on a target, on the street and in the studio, as a result it turned out that the working aperture on cameras with a crop factor starts from 5.6. Later, when I switched to full frame, the problem disappeared, the lens became sharp at any aperture and focal…

Pros
  • Convenient focal lengths, constant 4, the presence of a stabilizer, a lens hood and a case are included
Cons
  • It is a pity that the lens does not have internal focusing, on the crop the minimum working aperture is 5,6

The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

In general, very good glass, universal, for everyday use, if you are too lazy to carry (or buy) other lenses with you. You can get a good picture. By the way, I didn’t write about distortion in short and features of the picture, etc. etc. Much depends on the photographer and the carcass. For example, I heard opinions that this glass performs better on FF. I myself did not check the truth, but I plan to buy 6D. I will not advise, let everyone decide for himself.

Pros
  • -constructive first of all, very well assembled, nothing plays anywhere + moisture and dust protection -autofocus, works very accurately with my 60D, there are practically no misses -stabilizer, useful, especially when shooting videos, but it makes a little noise during operation, so it's better to record sound from an external microphone -focal - a very versatile lens, for almost all occasions, if there is a choice, take one lens from Canon, then this is definitely a good option - Fairly priced in my opinion
Cons
  • Naturally, there are disadvantages. - the picture is still inferior to more expensive zooms and many fixes -chromatite is strong enough for its aperture ratio - aperture itself

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, more pros than cons.

I bought it for the 60D as a standard lens. Everything is fine, but where is the sharpness inherent in L-cams. Only the owners of the FF praise him, it is not fully disclosed on the crop. I do not recommend taking it to crop owners. On the Mark, it is not bad, but on a crop it will be slightly better than a whale lens. It turns out that this is a whale in a durable construct with dust and moisture protection. I'm thinking of buying a 70-200mm F4L USM. There, everything is in order with…

Pros
  • Durable as a tank, moisture protection, looks solid, focuses quickly.
Cons
  • There is not enough sharpness on the crop. And since I have a crop, this does not suit me. Doesn't blur the background nicely. Sharpness starts at F5.6. At 5.6 the sharpness is crystal clear.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I have not regretted the purchase, everything is fine.

For my part, I want to say only one thing, after buying the 5D mark II, this lens showed itself in such a way that there was nothing nearby! Before that was (60D). On the old carcass . very much nothing, and even this lens brought in a good income, but after buying MARKOFBA, lo and behold ! This lens showed itself in all its glory. The only thing I did was correct it for 5 mark II alignment, and I don’t want to see anything better from the reportage. Very frisky, crystal sharpness starts right…

Pros
  • Good at work from 30mm, 4.0 is very sharp, even too much . Maybe you got lucky with the carcass .
Cons
  • The price is so-so. But on FF, I can use it with confidence and without mounting only from 30 mm. Strongly dark at a wide angle (24mm). But everything is very easy and fast.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for me, I was satisfied with the price.

A good SHARP working lens for everyday shooting of diverse scenes without frills, without a creative twist. Does not soap, quickly and accurately focuses. There is a bokeh on focal length 105, it seems even good . In comparison with 24-70 in the picture (only IMHO) it loses. If 24-70 can be compared in the picture (also IMHO) with fixes from a hole 2.8 (not L of course), then this one still falls short. At the same time, the focal range for a full matrix is still more in demand than 24-70…

Pros
  • The most demanded range of focal lengths for a full matrix Quite a sharp picture at all focal lengths The presence of a stabilizer (you never know - someone definitely needs it). Focusing is accurate and fast - in almost any conditions. Not a large mass
Cons
  • The price is not high enough, although for a 4.0 hole and the output image it is not quite adequate. The color reproduction is at the level, but the picture does not shine with colors!

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

I use in conjunction with 70-200mm f/2.8L USM on 7D. For a long time I chose between 24-105, 15-85 and 17-40, at first I settled on 15-85, he attracted me with his versatility. I used 15-85 for about 2 months, then I realized that you have to pay for versatility with a picture, and by no means do I say that 15-85 is a bad lens, no, I was just not satisfied with the clarity at 15mm focal length and with an open aperture. 24-105 universal, relatively inexpensive and reliable "L" - ka, if you…

Pros
  • The letter "L" on the lens and the "red ring" speak for themselves, but still: 1) The quality of the lenses. Quite sharp even at f/4, and at f/8 - f/16 is generally excellent. 2) Universal range of focal lengths. Good on Fullframe, quite wide on the near end on Crop, although there is no "barrel" effect. 3) Stabilizer. Works great when shooting video and pulls even 1/5. 4) Constant f / 4 aperture over the entire focal range. 5) Ultrasonic motor. It quickly focuses even on not very expensive models, for example 600D, there are no complaints when working on 7D. A metal, although not completely, body, a rubber gasket on the mount, a large focus ring and generally large dimensions.
Cons
  • Not very wide on Crop.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The right product for me, the price suited me.

Tried. Adjusted. Poyuzal his month. I did not see any particularly noticeable soap on the long one, nor critical distortion on the short one. I wouldn't say he's bad, no. Stub; hole 4 is not a problem if you think over what and how you will shoot. Nevertheless, good, but not great; Still not in the top ten. He, like a beautiful woman, is not my type: blonde, everything seems to be with her, but something is not right, not yours: I love brunettes. I decided to buy 24-70 L-II after all. I sold…

Pros
  • 1. The stub compensates for hole 4 at slow shutter speeds; 2. Focal length range is very good, 3. Ideal price-quality ratio 4. The right kit for FF 6. If you want to sell, there will be no problems, the loss is about 20%, if quickly.
Cons
  • 1. Based on my own experience and from the information received from colleagues, I was convinced that this particular model almost always needs to be adjusted, and not even for a specific carcass, but in a standard one. 2. Oddly enough for L, the weak side is the build quality and components, since this is the only L that is sold mainly (at least in St. Petersburg) in the OEM version, which cannot but be alarming, because this means that SUBJ can be assembled anywhere (maybe that's why they all need adjustment?). Therefore, when buying, ask if it has a native box, and if it is not branded, but just white, it is OEM. My friend's stub control board flew in such a lens after six months of operation, he repaired it in the service. 3. Loses to all three 24-70 in sharpness. 4. There is practically no drawing of its own.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product disappointed, does not meet the promises.

After reading the reviews, which were very contradictory, I decided to buy this lens all the same. Before this lens, I used Helios 44m, 44m-4, 44m-6 (52 mm), 40-2 (85 mm), Jupiter 37A (135 mm), industrial 50-2, canon 50mm F1 / 8 II, canon 28-80 mm F 3.5-5.6 in conjunction with the Canon 600d at the beginning, and then the Canon 5d Mark II, and what I want to note is that 24-105 IS LESS TO THEM IN PICTURE QUALITY, and it’s not about crooked hands, believe me, he shoots the same way, like a whale

Pros
  • I like the design of the lens, the convenience associated with focal lengths, in good lighting it gives out juicy and pleasant colors when photographing, a constant predictable result, a stabilizer . perhaps that's all
Cons
  • the lens is dark at equal aperture values, say with the same F4 fifty dollars, then a fifty dollars, (according to sensations) a stop lighter, strong vignetting up to 40 mm and a barrel. chromatic aberrations up to F5.6 - then everything is normal, a little lathers on the open along the cracks. for shooting video - not very suitable (paradox)

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A reliable product for all occasions, the quality is at the level.

Decent zoom. Now I use it only for reporting (registry office, banquet). Loses even to budget fixes in terms of sharpness and bokeh. Hole 4 is clearly a bit dark (when compared even with the same 50 f/1.8), but at the same time it is functional and sharp up to 70 mm inclusive. The trunk leaves, so the dust sucks a little (but not much). I recommend it to amateurs and novice pros as a staff member, despite the fact that the price does not bite. If you have money, then it is better to prefer…

Pros
  • 1. Body. 2. Working f/4 3 USM 4. Price
Cons
  • 1. Dark 2. Soaps on the long end

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Im not particularly happy, but basically everything is fine.

Good macro and sharpness at the near end. Apparently, this glass on the crop requires shooting in manual mode - both aperture and focus. On P + AF, the advantages over the usual whale are not obvious. Maybe I'll change the rating later when I shoot in manual mode with MF, and the weather will be better. In the meantime, not happy with the investment. Moreover, everyone writes that the lens is fragile and breaks even without falling.

Pros
  • L-ka. Not outrageously expensive. Convenient zoom range. Large - looks and feels solid (I love it). Then it will be possible to upgrade to a full frame.
Cons
  • Expected more. After the whale, which is 7 times cheaper, I didn’t see much difference (60D). Of course, I did not take the same photos, but I looked at the old and new ones - in general, one level. On medium and max focal lengths, somehow everything is not very sharp and dark.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good one.

The price now of course is not quite adequate, but given that everything has risen in price, the norms. Himself recently acquired from a friend in good condition for 32k. I use it with a 60D crop camera, perfect for travel lovers, the focal lengths are very versatile. Photo examples https://500px. Com/photo/96477171/wayfarer-by-nikita-danilushkin?from=user_library I liked the work of the stabilizer, it really helps out in difficult conditions. For video, perhaps the only acceptable option…

Pros
  • focal length range assembly color reproduction sharp (I use in tandem with crop) stabilizer
Cons
  • may be dark for some

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Very good reportage zoom on FF. A workhorse that works out every. Of course, you can forget about artistic photos with this lens, but it is not intended for that. 24-70 F / 2.8 is of course a cut above in image quality, it has fully working 24mm and 70mm portraits are much more interesting, etc., but it also costs much more, despite the fact that there is no stub. The lens has a lot of minuses, but no less pluses, given its price. When choosing, decide what is more important for you, high…

Pros
  • Versatility: Excellent reportage lens. The presence of a stabilizer that really works. Fast AF. Fairly light. Constant luminosity. Good design with dust and moisture protection. Good sharpness in the center of the frame. At 105mm, it is quite possible to shoot good portraits. Moderate price.
Cons
  • Very strong barrel for 24-30mm. Starting from 30-32mm everything is already good. Rubbish hood. No trunk blocker. Of course, I would like 2.8 aperture, but what we pay for is what we get. On crop, you deprive yourself of a wide angle.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are deviations, generally tolerable.

Inferior in sharpness to its fellow 28-135, which is 3 times cheaper than it! Structurally, a little better, heavier, BUT . the picture of 28-135 is really better. Having 28-135, I went to choose 24-105, took it, took it off with both in equal conditions, gave it back 24-105. To be honest, it's not worth the money they ask for it. You will simply be disappointed in it for this amount. Once again I was convinced that the notorious "L" is a divorce (with the exception of some models, which…

Pros
  • Red ring and belonging to the L-series
Cons
  • Soaps, and it's real. Constructive as in non-L-series. Price.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

You can shoot absolutely everything. Attacks on the use as a portrait painter have no basis. For a portrait, 100-105 mm at the long end is fine. If you use a lens to replace a pair of lenses: 24-70 and 70-200, then you get a huge weight gain. The 24-70 and 70-200 Canon lenses are all excellent, both with and without a stub, both with aperture 2.8 and aperture 4 (70-200 of course). But carrying two lenses without the need to use them is a bit heavy. One of the pair may not be enough. And it’s…

Pros
  • hard worker. Worked for five years and no problems. Universal focal. As a regular one, it goes to both cropped DSLRs and full-frame ones. The weight is small. The price for optics of this class is not too high
Cons
  • No for me. Only at short focal lengths should the lens hood be removed to avoid vignetting when using flashes.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

This is a very convenient, solid, high-quality, versatile and . boring lens. I used this model for several months in conjunction with other lenses: I took pictures on trips, shot portraits, used a wide angle . There are a lot of good shots left, but, unfortunately, there are no ones that cause true delight and admiration precisely from the point of view of the technical capabilities of the lens. Empirically established that this glass loses at all focal lengths to lenses specially created for…

Pros
  • Quite reasonable price, versatility, light weight.
Cons
  • A bit dark and again - too versatile, which makes it impossible to take the highest quality shots at certain focal lengths and does not give room for creativity.
