I love how my markers soak into this paper. The only complaint is that it leaks and ends up on the next page before I'm done with the piece.

I'm browsing through albums like crazy! They hold up well with watercolors, gouache, crayons, markers, watercolor pencils, and anything else I can offer them. I also like the hard cover and the spiral binding so I can lay it flat if I want.

Purchased based on positive reviews and our great luck with other Canson albums for my daughter's mixed media painting class. The quality of the paper is fantastic and it has enough teeth not to smudge with hatching or charcoal. She likes it very much.

The paper is not 7 inches wide. The width is 6 inches from the perforation line, and that's 6 3/4 inches of the entire paper. 7 inches is the size of a hard cover. This is my only comment but it's 1 inch which is important for what I wanted. Well suited for watercolor paints, does not spread. I made a puddle of water with brush #2 and dotted it with a colored brush. Yes, like most papers it will warp if not stretched. The texture accepts pigments well.

When I was an art student and worked at an art supply store, I tried out a lot of sketchbooks. I still buy art supplies and I have to say that the Canson Mix Media Art Book is one of my favorite books. I have bought this particular item from a large box before but was so happy to find it at Revain at a good price. The cover is thick and durable, and can be traveled and carried a lot when painting. You can count on the pages to stay in place as they fit easily in an art bag or briefcase and work

This is a very good paper for drawings, watercolors and mixed media when you cannot afford professional quality paper. It's heavy and has enough teeth for watercolor, acrylic, painting or whatever your heart desires. However, I am not a Michelangelo and I am not a professional artist. I haven't tried any oils either.
