Legs won't stay in place

The gate itself is of good quality but I had to stand alone. The gate's legs move and rotate and need to be adjusted each time I move the gate. We kept tightening the screws, but they immediately loosened. They are like helicopter blades. I even tried gorilla epoxy but it didn't last. I need a welder.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Minor issues

I am extremely disappointed!

Wobbly! These baby gates are very poorly constructed. There is no cut out on the legs so I couldn't screw them on properly to make the gate stable. Legs dangle and become loose when in use. Also, one of the screw holes was too small for the screw so I couldn't secure the width. Overall, the product makes a very poorly processed impression. Too expensive for the stability of the children's gate. It's also heavy, so I'm afraid it might fall off and damage something. I am extremely disappointed!

We are happy with our purchase

Just ordered a second one. We have a small 6 lb dog who tends to run out of the door when we open it so we needed something to keep that from happening. We also wanted something we could easily step over. This gate is perfect for our needs. I agree that the poles stick out a bit, but they have to be there to hold this heavy gate upright. I also agree that you should retighten the support bolts from time to time. I have to do this about every 3-4 months and it takes less than a minute so it'sโ€ฆ

Trust the reviews - Legs WILL NOT stay in place

I bought this to put at the bottom of the stairs so our dog wouldn't run up the stairs. I loved the look and still do. I almost immediately read the reviews that the legs relaxed, and I probably thought that this is not so bad. I could use washers or something. SO BAD. Literally on day two we had the goal when I first saw the legs come loose. Then, within a week, the sticky floor protection films came off. We got through it. Remember that if the legs are not tightened, the gate will be crooked.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Very expensive

Dangerous for small dogs

I bought this to keep a 2.9# Papillion puppy out of my carpeted living room until I can go potty. Unfortunately I'm sending it back after just a few days. The rubber pad fell off the bottom on day 1 and the legs don't hold up. When I put it back in place it fell over and I had to scramble to keep it from falling on my little baby. I really wish the metal mesh would stop those tiny baby teeth from ripping the wooden set apart, but that doesn't work! UPDATE: The rubber feet fell off and my 2.9#โ€ฆ

Finally a gate that can withstand people in our home

We went through 3-4 gates to keep our dogs from running down the hall. My kids kept stumbling through the old gate and of course looking at their iPads. My son single-handedly broke through at least two goals like a man with sodas. Almost all were made of chipboard. After my husband flew in like a crushing ball for the last time, I decided I would move on to those metal gates. LOVE IT! One of the kids tripped over it the other day (with an iPad) and the gate gave just enough to loosen theโ€ฆ

Works well for door and stair gates

We needed a barrier in front of the stairs to keep our English bulldog from going up to the second floor. I've tirelessly searched for alternatives to the usual, ugly baby gates. We went through this phase with our son and I will not put another one in my house. I didn't want to be constantly building something into the wall or constantly opening and closing the latch. In the end it turned out great! The metal is very similar to our railings, so that's a plus. It's short enough that we don'tโ€ฆ
