I would consider other options

I have to say this product is a solid 3 star product. It works, but there are better options for a little more money. The Good: The general build quality feels solid. Large diameter screws and decent metal are good. The automatic brake works well. Sometimes it's so good I have trouble letting go. But given the fact that this sits over my car, I'd rather play it safe. Bad: no center strap. This can be normal for some flat bottom cases. But my Pelican Sprint didn't feel safe. Pros
  • Heavy duty steel construction, nylon cord; no assembly required
Cons
  • Only available in white

Once installed you will love it!

These elevators work reasonably well, but I encountered a few difficulties before getting what I wanted. Once I get rid of those obstacles, the pulley system works great! Here's a summary of my thoughts: Screws: The included screws are made of very soft metal and break easily. I would recommend using screws other than the ones included. Pulley Rope: Nowhere is it explained that the supplied rope needs to be cut. You need to cut the rope in half and use each half for each pulley. Kayak Strap…

Pros
  • 3.8 pounds; The weight to buoyancy ratio is 4:1.
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions

Adding rope isn't that difficult - here's a photo to help

1. First off, no need to cut the rope, just find the ends and tidy yours Item as shown in the first picture .2. Insert one end of the rope into the bottom hole of the assembly, under the gap and through the pulley at the bottom.3. Then thread the end through one of the hooked pulleys and up through the hole in the bottom of the pulley mount and tie it around the screw. I wrapped it twice around the stud and then tied a square knot (make sure you don't tie a slip knot!). Pull the hook knot down…

Pros
  • Ceiling mount for a bike lift for ceilings up to 12ft
Cons
  • Hard to tell
