I wanted to use these cables in the USB port on the front of my computer. I wanted the cable to hang down. However, since the USB connector can only be plugged in one way, the cable hangs up instead of down. I'll throw them in a box with strings. Maybe one day I'll find a use for them. But for now they are useless. I would send them back but it doesn't seem worth the hassle to me.

I have a Garmin motorcycle sat nav and needed to connect it with a USB cable. They sell Garmin custom USB charging cables, but they were all long. It was the perfect length. I get a warning that the Garmin is not charging but is powered. So as long as it's plugged into an outlet, it works. Much nicer than having to fiddle with a 3ft cable when all I need is 6 inches. Usually there isn't much to say about the USB cable. However, this one is good and works as advertised. I bought this cable to use with a police scanner. The scanner has a mini USB port on the side, which allows the device to be powered and programmed via a PC. With the standard cable, I feel like it comes right out of the side port, making it unstable and prone to tipping over.
