I've tested countless mandolins ranging in price from $20 to $200. It seems to be the best for everyday use. Dishwasher safe, cuts effortlessly, wish it was an inch wider. If you apply too much downward pressure, the footrest will sometimes collapse (which can be dangerous).

Overall I like this slicer. He is durable. I originally bought this to keep in our RV for cutting potatoes. I want the safety slider to click into place when stowed. It just sits on the back of the slicer. Can be attached with a rubber band to secure when not in use.

It was frustrating not being given instructions on how to move the footrest and how to attach and reattach the part that holds everything you have cut. It's also pretty useless as a slicer. The skin of everything I've tried to cut sticks to the blade and I have to cut most of it. Don't buy this.
