Not impressed. I cooled the meat and it stuck to the gears and wouldn't come out. I chill the meat longer. Same result. Went to the forums and asked questions, only received advice on "to chill the meat". I have returned this item. I will buy a separate meat grinder.

It's been fantastic so far. I've chopped up lamb and beef and the meat comes out with great texture, just like it did in the store. I've had no issues with it, no crashes, no fuss, no adjustments. It just works. It disassembles easily and is clean, oiled and ready for the next time in minutes.

When you do anything that requires sanding, you need something that will last. about not putting your fingers in the danger zone where the actual grinding takes place. Okay, let's not say "impossible". How about "damn hard to do unless you're the type of person who just has to say, 'Hey! Look out!' "Anyway, it's priced right, it's made right, and it's really great for making things like sausage.

Plastic is clearly preferable. In general, however, it works well. We've shredded the pork tenderloin for dog food and also the pork leg for sausage. However, I have to say that making sausage links is ridiculously time consuming and unprofitable. This isn't due to this product or our Kitchenaid blender, just a tedious job of loading the casing and pushing the ground beef in bit by bit (ground because it needs to be seasoned after the first grind). I gave this 3 stars because I just didn't feel this appliance was as versatile as I was hoping or expecting from Chef's Choice. I bought it because it was metal and I expected it to be strong. However, it's really only sold as a meat grinder, and if you want to use it to stuff sausages, you'll have trouble finding the right 'bait' and using it as such. I've had a hard time finding metal/stainless steel stuffing tubes for this and it needs a plate to hold the front end of the screw in place for…
