Ideal for a 40 year old pipe.

RotoRooter came out to tend to some of the roots in our line, after they left I saw water pouring out of the 3 inch cast iron cleaning hole. I bought a new PVC cap and spent 20 minutes on the wire. using a brush on my drill bit trying to clean the threads into a usable condition. The new cap didn't work, didn't poke it in any further than the old one before cutting the threads and popping out. that they weren't at the local hardware store because when you need it you don't want to wait.

  • Good product for the price
Cons

Just what I needed in the equipment

No more horrible sewage smell in the basement. There was a clog, the old plastic cap was removed to clear the clog, replaced very loosely by a technician. Terrible smell which I assumed was 'debris' from the drain pipe. No matter how much bleach and hot water was poured down the sewer, the smell lingered. In the end it turned out that the smell came from the sewers. I tried screwing the lid on tightly, but it was too rusty. Googled and found this product. Tightened, tightened, tightened again…

Works in harsh environments

The 3.5 inch plug was missing from my cleaner. The cleaning cap that mates with the connector has been split at 1/8 inch increments. Both the vertical tube and the cover were misaligned. To make matters worse, the cleaning cover was between the concrete road and the concrete parking lot, so I couldn't replace the cover or fix the misalignment. At first I tried a solid butt without success. This type of plugin worked despite the game's many unusual features. Installation took less than a minute.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Few minutes to install and worked great on a badly corroded cast iron cleaning flange. I used the Cheme Gripper Plug to replace a leaky cheap plastic plug and rubber grommet that a professional plumber installed after they routed my main drain line under my house. It seals perfectly on a completely rusted cleanable flange. As I usually do, I lubricated the threads of the bolt with installation grease (silicone), although the nut and bolt are stainless steel. This ensures that the nut can be…

Ok but there are some design issues here is a long review on it

These are the only cleaners I could find that work in my super old XH (extra heavy duty) cast iron Trap for the Whole House (Somerville). I originally bought 2 used ones from Revain Warehouse Deals which I regret as they were slightly damaged. I returned them and ended up buying new ones which I installed with minor modifications after guessing the mistakes someone made installing more used ones. Here's a list of modifications and then I'll explain why I thought they were necessary…

  • good thing
Cons

Rescuer; I don't know why they don't sell it in stores.

I don't know if others are telling you to buy a different size than you need, but I bought a 3" plug instead of my brass one and it worked fine. I was uncomfortable installing another brass connector as the threads were somewhat damaged from having to destroy the original connector. However, after noticing some people's feedback about over-tightening, I started tightening the nut just enough until the threads were tight but still loose. After that I hand screwed the plug up to the rim of the…

Good product! fits appliances

I used this to replace a worn out rusty plug that a previous plumber installed after cleaning my sewer line. My sewer line needed cleaning and the plumber I chose didn't replace the plug with a new one. (just a little mad about it but he was a good guy) The old plug was nasty and the wing nut that was on it fell apart completely after I tried LIGHTLY to turn it with a couple of locks! The plumber pulled it out and put it back in. After it was gone I noticed it and was concerned it was leaking…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
