The barrel is very large - you need very long hair for it to work properly.

Should have listened to others. I have a 1 inch curling iron that will soon run out. After reading many reviews and looking at different brands, I decided to buy it. I was looking for looser curls and straighter hair. my shoulders, long layers, wavy and can get frizzy, especially when wet. This straightener made my hair almost straight. Maybe they're assholes.

Should have listened to the reviews. The iron heats up quickly but doesn't pinch the hair too much. I have very thick hair and thought maybe it was just a problem with thin, soft hair. It is not! The husband simply dismantled the clamp and attempted to bend the spring back. It helped a little. I've found Chi to be a great brand so far. Maybe they're assholes.

It burned the ends of my hair. Regardless of the temperature!

I really wanted to try the CHI product. However, within a few months of starting using it, the ends of my hair started to burn! Temperature lowered but nothing changed. My hairstylist told me it had to be a curling iron, but I just couldn't believe a CHI product could do that. At 6 months after losing 3 inches in length and still having burned ends I decided to change and that was it! I will never buy CHI hair products again. JE!

I examined the curling iron before buying it. Tourmaline ceramic is highly recommended. I compared several brands and settled on this Chi. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but so glad I did! I love it! I have 1-1/2 inches. My hair is quite long.1. I love temperature control! I have medium hair and there is a lot of it and I feel like this does the job of my old Revlon iron, sometimes I want to go back to

I've had one for almost a year and it's still working, I've used it about twice a week. I have medium hair and there is a lot of it and I feel like it does the job of my old Revlon curler. Sometimes I want to go back. I guess I still don't know the true purpose of this curling iron other than to get big loose curls.
