Perfect cooling solution for Samsung 950 Pro SSD

Use this in combination with "Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive" and a thermal pad strip to cool a Samsung 950 Pro SSD. The 950 Pro sits on the BOTTOM side of my motherboard in a Bitfenix prodigy with semi-passive cooling. (Read: no fans when not gaming.) I can't get drive throttle temperatures during testing, even when case fans aren't running, but I didn't test drive temperatures beforehand, so your mileage may vary. (although this solution WITHOUT cooling is certainly light years ahead)

product conforms to description and works great, just check the exact thickness you need before ordering. I found I could cut parts to size using a vise (use wood spacers to protect the copper finish) and a hacksaw. Sharp edges are easily smoothed out with a medium sized flat file/knife sharpener. Don't try to cut with tin snips or anything like that or you'll bend the piece and want it to stay perfectly flat. Before installation, wash your hands and thoroughly clean the copper with 91%…

Nicer workmanship than expected

I bought it to cool the RAM and Super I/O chip. They finished a lot better than expected so all I had to do was use a polish to remove the extra dirt and haze from the side I glued to. I haven't tested how much they help in the heat as my laptop still gets pads in the mail. My Super I/O chip has no airflow so I cut a spacer several times about 2mm around the perimeter and then attach it to another spacer which then attaches to the chip.
