I bought it to cool the RAM and Super I/O chip. They finished a lot better than expected so all I had to do was use a polish to remove the extra dirt and haze from the side I glued to. I haven't tested how much they help in the heat as my laptop still gets pads in the mail. My Super I/O chip has no airflow so I cut a spacer several times about 2mm around the perimeter and then attach it to another spacer which then attaches to the chip. Just to have more surface area for heat dissipation. I only used 2 standoffs for each ram card because they get airflow. An update will come after I get other heat dissipation parts that help or don't help.
