Chums Slim Retainer - Adjustable Thin Silicone Unisex Eyewear Keeper Review

I bought this thing for white water rafting and would absolutely buy again in the case that I lost it, but I don’t see it breaking or coming loose so I highly doubt that time will come! It fits into my glasses like a glove and is 100% silicone so it’s easy to clean and won’t soak up sweat or dirt. Just buy it, it’s the best Chums geoduck I’ve used and while they’re all great this one takes the cake!

After my $$$ glasses kept falling off my face and getting scratched, I ordered one of those "adjustable eyewear retainers" to hold them on, the kind that have wires in the back with attached sliders that keep the wires aligned with each other. If you are looking for a light and minimalist retainer, this is a great choice.It was easy to attach to my new Costa Del Mar sunglasses and is so light you forget it's on. Lifetime warranty is a nice bonus.If I could change one thing or offer an option, I would prefer it to be longer. My head is big, but certainly not huge and I need to stretch it a bit to get it on. This is a nice lightweight sunglass strap. The silicone tips easily slide on to my glasses and really grip. The strap is lightweight and low profile so it is comfortable to wear and doesn't get in the way. No complaints. 5 stars.

I like the way this leash stays on my sunglasses, it’s really secure. I don’t care for the length though, it’s too short, I would like it a lot better if it were longer.

I wanted a flexible strap for a pair of Maui Jim's with very thin earpieces. It wasn't clear that these would fit - but they work perfectly. The small rubber "cinch" block can also be removed to make the strap lighter.

This product is exactly what I was looking for. I have a 7 1/2” head, and most of my glasses bow at the temples, and slip down my nose. I wear it daily, it keeps my glasses in place, and I hardly notice it’s there.

Overall the quality of this eyewear retainer is good however compared to competition its more on the expensive side. 2-3 pack retainers for the current price would be a fair price. It was easy to put it on the eyewear and it fits snugly. I wish there was a magnetic lock which was easy to put it on or take it off. I am new to retainers and trying to figure out the best way to put it on and take it out and this doesnt feel convenient. Something with a magnetic lock would be more convenient

I have an old pair of Chums from the 1980s that are longer and their main purpose is to let you take the glasses off and let them hang down on your chest. These are much shorter and their purpose is to be snug against the back of your head to hold your glasses on and keep them from flying off during your more active recreational pursuits.For that they do a very good job. I was getting these for my husband but I didn’t read closely that these were the slim fit so they did not fit on his chunkier frame but they did fit my wire frame sunglasses and they came in handy when I fell off my standup paddleboard today at the lake! The $10 saved my expensive prescription sunglasses!

These fit great on small/medium ear ends – they do not fit on all my glasses. I have a few glasses that have a large ear end & these will not go over. But luckily, the glasses I usually wear while kayaking fit fine. They hold securely & are comfortable to wear. These are great for kayaking and other water sports.

I recently went on vacation and used these eyeglass retainers with my Ray-Ban "New Wayfarer" sunglasses. It was so convenient to have the sunglasses hanging around my neck instead of on the neckline of my shirt or on my baseball hat, or on my head . so much more accessible and less prone to dropping. These were snug and worked really well. I recommend them!

Used for a 5 day rafting trip. They were so comfortable I barely noticed them. Very secure, wore my glasses even when jumping in the water and had no issues.

I have a tendency to lay my glasses down on counters or restaurant tables, and forget them. Thankfully I have these now to keep my glasses attached at all times!

Much better than the one I bought at the drugstore. Keep in mind it maybe more difficult to fit into a glass case when attached.
