Nothing for mechanics!

This item is perfect if you only use it a few times a year. Great tool idea but poorly built. Definitely spend a few bucks more and do it a little better if anyone is considering this thing.

Poor design prevents them from working properly

They weren't strong enough to open the clamps because the cable jacket is squeezed before the clamp releases. Skip them and just use a few channel blocks or look for another brand instead. Purchased for use on GM radiator and heater clamps.

You didn't do the job.

When I first started using them to remove radiator hose clamps they were fine. I was able to remove 4 clamps and remove two hoses. However, when attempting to reinstall 4 clamps, these pliers did not open the clamps far enough to allow for reinstallation. It seems to me that the cable mechanism has slipped and there is no adjustment or repair to fix it. After a lot of effort I had to use an old clamp pliers with a different design to finish the job. My old pliers actually worked much better…
