definitely not what i expected

It works but very difficult to use. and for what it is, I find it overpriced. let's see how long it lasts. Used it to repair a 3/4 rubber water hose. The little wires left open at the end are the main pita bread in this case. I stabbed myself several times with a knife and took heat shrink tubing to wrap and seal it. Most of the time when using it in automotive applications you don't have the space to get this tool and twelve hands, you have to align everything to make it work properly. just a…

I wish I had had it sooner.

Now I keep it in my RV. Pairs will be with stainless steel safety wire. I have a 1.04mm diameter wire and it is fine for normal clamp use. About a year ago, a nearly new coolant hose clamp broke while driving down the freeway and spilled all of my coolant. I was lucky enough to go through my contact list to find someone who could pick me up and drive to the AutoZone to get a new clamp and coolant. 2 hours later we were on our way again. If I had it, I'd be back on the road in less than an hour.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Essential in tool kits

I got one of these a few years ago. Since then, it has proven itself hundreds of times and it is impossible to imagine my tool bag without it. I don't know why this isn't used more often, but it's absolutely phenomenal. Used in vacuum lines, radiator hoses, ropes, bungee cords, ax handles. This list has no end. With good quality stainless steel wire, tremendous clamping force can be applied without the usual fatigue twisting occurring. When making wire clamps I almost always use double winding.

Pros
  • Decent performance

Great Tool Best in Tools & Equipment Category

I'm old and my fingers don't work as well as they used to. The wing nut presents a problem because it is small and awkward to use. What I did was buy an old fashioned bicycle front wheel wing nut. It is loosely attached to the threaded rod, onto which a small wing nut is screwed. I removed the small wing nut and put on an old fashioned bicycle wing nut, then I put on the small "rear" wing nut. " on a large bicycle wing nut. Very easy on your fingers as you have a much larger area which makes it

I wish I had known that many years ago.

I love love love this thing. I bought it specifically to fix a broken air hose. At work I use pneumatic nail guns all day and recently my hose ruptured for the second time in 2 years. I just bought it and am very upset. I've tried several repair kits that used double ended barbs with tapered compression sleeves but they couldn't withstand the pressure and I had to use 2 clamps to secure the hose. This makes it more difficult to roll up the hose and sticks to everything, including people and…
