I've been using this for a few days while driving on the interstate. The weather radio function works normally; one of the five channels becomes free. The CB radio will not pick up a channel even if you use a roof antenna. One day I heard someone speaking softly at a rest stop. I know some readers will say this is user error, but my husband is a former Army liaison and knows what he's doing. I would abandon this model and move on to something else.

I use this as a mobile device in conjunction with a Little Wil antenna, PL-259 BNC adapter and Cobra Lapel Speaker Mic. Works great on the Autobahn. No problem. Radio is clean. I don't like putting a 9 AA battery in it because nobody sells 9 MIMH in a pack, you have to get another pack and leave 3, but other than that it's a great radio.
