Unusable - immediately blunt

Appears to be made of soap or something similar in hardness. They become blunt on first contact with metal. As another reviewer said the only use for left handed drills is to remove broken bolts and the like which are usually hard steel. On such a bolt, the drills simply tap uselessly, without making a noticeable impression.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Negative impression

LOL Wife laughed at this one

There was a rusty bolt in the frame of the lawnmower. It punctured and was ready to be repaired in 10 seconds. I used oil and tried to take care of the bits. I hope this set will last for many years. This rusty bolt has been a problem for a few days. Nothing could remove or break this bolt. I walked out with that beat and was done in no time. no bloody joints. Every mechanic knows the value of a tool that prevents injury. :)

Good quality bits but not great extractors

Well made bits. One of the many options I've bought to remove hundreds of old, stripped screws from my deck. Worked on some but mostly just drilled through the center. No better or worse than dedicated screw extraction sets, rubber bands, or vises. I ended up just cutting out the whole deck, screws and everything and putting in new lags. Now I have a set of left-handed bits :-).

  • Great product

i removed my 3mm rounded hex without a drill

i used a pair of vices i don't have a drill i needed to remove a 3mm hex head screw from a recess i was able to install it in less than 2 minutes with nr drill i put a drill for my left hand on my vise, then I put it in the hole which I turned to the left and I immediately felt it bite. I was so stressed my $700 ES4 was stripped of external battery space, it worked so well I was so stressed thanks

Part of my life has become much easier.

I have many professional audio recorders. The stand screws are pretty awful and the heads break off easily and often. I bought one of those double ended screw extraction kits and it worked about 10% of the time. I saw a video online of someone using a "left hand drill" to remove a stripped screw so I went with this kit. The first attempt didn't work. I went up to the next size up and the screw just came out. It happens right in my studio toolbox.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • New competitors

Failed first use on jobber drills

Left handed drills are primarily used for removing broken bolts and most bolts are made of high quality. When drilling out the broken bolt, the first cutting edge (pilot hole) worked perfectly, the second cutting edge broke. This was my first time using this new racket. Now I had a broken bolt and a drill in it. After many hours, lots of profanity and a few crooked beats, the mess was fixed. The box does not say which country these bits were made in. I do not recommend this product.

Pros
  • Attaches to reversible drills to remove screws, bolts and studs around the home, garage or job site
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Worst drills I have ever had the misfortune to use.

I bought these specifically to drill out a broken stabilizer bushing bolt. I have already drilled a pilot hole down the length of the remaining fractured section. Using reverse twist drills, I planned to gradually enlarge the hole, hoping it might break out and come out. Reverse beat blunted for the first 20 seconds. Then when I tried to slowly drill further, it broke in the hole. I would not recommend using it under any circumstances.

Pros
  • M2 HSS bits with titanium nitride coating for increased strength
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Bad and overpriced.

Like many others I bought these to have a screw extraction kit ready to use. That's one of the reasons this bit set is advertised, even says it on the tin. I bought these because they were more expensive than some other brands. However, I am not sure why they are rated so highly. The box is very beautiful, I tell you. It folds to reveal the bits and they have a handy holder. They're primarily used for extracting screws and bolts, so why are they made of black and gold high-speed steel and not…
