Nice but too many buttons.

I tried it out and at first I was a little overwhelmed by all the buttons: there are so many that it's easy to accidentally press them if you tilt the head of the device. The "2D" function annoyed me at first, but it can be useful. The best thing about this device is the palm rest-shaped body, which keeps the device in the right orientation (a constant problem with the base unit). In the end I decided the buttons were redundant; Instead, I can just add some keyboard shortcuts to Solidworks. I…

This will NOT replace your mouse or trackball

It's a well-designed product, but it's a shame it can't be used as a regular mouse. This is never explicitly mentioned in the description and it really should be. Applications need special support. For example, you can't use this device to control your cursor and click on things and assign buttons to open apps. At least not unless you buy an SDK (Software Development Kit) and have the skills to develop this functionality yourself. This is a serious and indeed surprising omission. Yes…

Pros
  • Six degrees of freedom thanks to the controller cap that bends in all directions
Cons
  • Negative impression

Ferrari from the periphery

This device is ONLY if you have extra money, not if you are on a budget (this is a luxury). It's too damn expensive, but once you do it. OH MY GOODNESS! Build quality is excellent, smooth movements, buttons, etc. I use this with 3Ds Max. If you don't have it, it takes a little longer to finish your work, but if you have it, it will be faster and nicer. This is NOT a mouse replacement, this is an add-on. MOST of what I use is selecting mesh faces or vertices while rotating an object, all Mouse +

Pros
  • Intuitive 3D navigation
Cons
  • Little things

Suitable for CAD but not for gaming

This controller is designed for better 3D control in 3D applications and modelling. Enhanced control is achieved through the use of a 3D compound in the second hand when using a mouse, trackpad, or trackball in the main hand. One is for working with the selection and the second is for working with the 3D space that the selection is in. Applications of this type are usually specialized applications like Rhino (3D modeler). Since most 3D VAST applications partially support this control, I've made
