Works, but doubles as an unwanted beacon!

Ultra bright white LED that stays on is not mentioned anywhere in the product description. I would send it back, but honestly it's not worth going to the Revain Locker for an item that only costs $4.

Surprisingly small purple USB microSD card reader

This is the smallest USB stick in the world, the computer recognizes microSD files as files from a USB stick. This is so cool and handy since most large PCs don't have a microSD card slot. :) Can be used where there is no MicroSD slot, only USB.

SD card difficult to insert and remove

I like that it is nice and compact, but unfortunately it is too difficult to insert a micro SD card and almost impossible to insert a micro SD card already inserted remove card. Now I'm trying to pull it out with tweezers. My advice is save your money and buy something better.

Works well in principle, but does not work in Toyota

Works as described. The speed is good for 2.0. The SD card is firmly inserted so that it cannot be lost afterwards. I was able to remove the SD card without any problems. The chain works, but it's best not to pull too hard. It is better to take it out of the box. It didn't work for Toyota, but it worked for Mazda. Worked on my computer too. Not sure if Toyota had a problem with it, SD card or Fat32 formatting.

It's inconsistent to use it with a Respberry Pi. There are no problems with the PC.

I bought this specifically for use on a Raspberry Pi 4. By default, the Pi uses a microSD card for the operating system. But you can also boot from USB. That's why I bought this - I could skip the microSD card slot on the PI and use the USB ports. But often my Pi would not boot up. I also tried using it as a storage device for the Pi but it wasn't recognized. I had no problems using it on a regular PC. Get ready for a party in the living room. I saw another review that mentioned the LED is bright, but this is the next level. This is really crazy. I thought I would just cover the light but it's deep in the plastic so I'll have to try and hack this thing to desolder the LED. If you have epilepsy, stay away.
