I have used much more expensive crimping tools but this one does a very good job at a fraction of the price. It also appears to be well made and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Jaw design is sharp and will cut shrink coating when crimping. You cannot adjust the crimping pressure as it is a ratchet design that must fully close before the jaws open. It works for crimping but does not allow the use of shrink connectors to seal the connection.

I have used a variety of tools to crimp electrical connectors but this is by far the best! You will completely crush the welded connector. The tool has an auto-release feature, but what most people don't realize is that you have to fully squeeze the pliers before the auto-release will unlock the pliers. The ratchet can also be released manually, but this becomes difficult when the pliers are closed.

Maybe mine is broken or I'm weak but I have to push hard to install the blue connectors. It takes two hands to squeeze the wire leaving no hands left to hold the wire! The yellow connectors were a bit easier, but there didn't seem to be enough leverage. The lock is difficult to access - it is located between the handles, so you will have to use a screwdriver. Too bad, otherwise it's a good solid tool.

Used for Wirefly Shrink Connectors. I bought 3 connectors from a set of 500 pieces. and already used half of it to hook up the boat. complete gut and replace restoration project. You will reach the bottom of the other sponge insert before the shrink connector's shank deforms enough to form a crimp. I have an Irwin professional wire stripper and it does a great job stripping wires. I also used the crimping portion of this tool to make the specified crimps. Unfortunately, it doesn't always crimp perfectly and requires an unusual amount of force to crimp. It's time to switch to Wirefy branded professional crimping tools. Obviously at this price point this tool is 100% made in China. A real American, German or Japanese industrial ratchet crimping tool will cost you hundreds of dollars! If you
