Being able to see how charged the battery is at a glance is pretty cool. A little more sensitive, of course, but hopefully that will save me money when changing the battery on my Boxster. I go through a year for the last three. I'm only showing 35mA when parked, but when three weeks go by the battery drains so much that it doesn't recover. I also bought a CTEK 4300 after researching that it was the same unit sold as the Porsche Charger for almost half the price.

Well I thought it would be a top kit (I would have given it 5 stars up to now) but tonight 20 minutes after getting home I happened to be back in the closed garage to find it fine smoke and the smell of burnt plastic. I've been using this CTEK Polar charger/servicer for 5 years and it still works as does the battery I bought it for. I don't drive my grooming, but short trips and it has lasted a long time. I usually had to charge the battery when I wanted to leave. Now I just unplug the charger and the battery is fully charged.
