you may think i'm crazy but now i have NINE. Generator, two boat batteries, two garden tractors, a motorcycle, two cars and a sump pump. I literally paid the price for not maintaining lead-acid batteries. And today, one of them is close to $100. Since I don't travel much, the batteries don't charge and all self-discharge, especially with age. The more you leak them, the more they sulfate, the faster they die, and then you have a (forever) dead battery and can't go where you want to go. garage door and see those green lights blinking happily. A quick descent down the stairs to the basement, a peek through the basement and I know if I need to circle the Christmas tree, the pile of boxes, the pile of junk on the way to the trash, etc. as opposed to taking the generator apart and running the cycle , then VOM and balance each wire and get the VOM on the right scale! Or open the battery boxes on the boat, unlock the cars, open the hoods, etc.
