A poorly designed blade will jam after 2-3 turns.

This is a poorly designed blade. It cannot cut fresh carrots because it will clog after 2-3 turns. This engine is not strong enough. Cuisinart should have designed it with offset blades.

Dull Blades - Small Appliance Parts and Accessories

I am very disappointed in this product. I bought this disc to slice fresh carrots and the disc works terribly for that purpose. This may work with soft vegetables and fruits, but not with fresh carrots. This is a design flaw as the blade is not sharpened at all.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Poor repairability

NOT suitable for FP-11; wrong product search

This does NOT fit the FP-11 model even though the product search says so. I just spoke to Cuisinart support and they said I need a DLC-833TX-1 ("-1" suffixes refer to my model he said) so I'll try to return it. Although the part I need doesn't seem to be available on Amazon. a photo. Disappointing.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • No automatic

Grind veggies to a pulp!

I bought this to save time cooking sweet potatoes, carrots and more. Before buying, I would use a 2mm slicing blade twice (slicing food and then cutting vertically) to julienne vegetables. This disc makes some good slices of straw, but then the blade gets stuck and turns the rest to mush. From now on, I'll stick with the extra step. Maybe it'll be better with potatoes, I think we'll see.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • No capacity

Big disappointment!

I had the same problem as many others. It just doesn't do anything, and more complex things like carrots and apples make a big mess. Maybe it would help if they made the julienne holes in the blade a little bigger. If there was a way to slow the machine down to a lower lever, you could get better cuts as well. This one returns. Very disappointed - I was imagining julienne salads with nice combinations of beets, carrots, apples etc. I think the only solution is a quality mandolin.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Useless features

Blunt blades = puree instead of julienne = DISAPPOINTMENT = waste of money!

Doesn't work at all. The blades are very dull, not sharp at all, and it basically just kneads any veggies I try to chop. When I try to julienne something like a sweet potato or carrot, my food processor jumps over the counter because the blade goes through the vegetable. Also if you consider this to do the job of a spiralizer. LOOK ELSEWHERE! It's better to just buy a spiralizer.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Modernity

Disappointed with small appliance parts and accessories

Bought to julienne vegetables for salads and roasts. I received it today and tried it asap. I believe if you use a vegetable that is the perfect texture, cut, and size, you could end up with a decent julienne. I tried it on carrots and basically got a "scratch" with bits of julienne mixed in. I'll use it anyway, but I'm disappointed. I'm not sure I want to take the risk of ordering a french fries blade. An advice. I would not use the momentum button on this blade. I made it first, and it's a…
