Wrapped around a hard plastic tube which may interfere with proper seating and cause leaks.

The material is wrapped around a rigid plastic tube which is incompressible and can cause fit/seal issues and leaks in your system (as was the case with mine). press into the system and ensure proper seating and sealing of the water system. In the future we will buy woven versions.

no top-bottom seals for the body and no large winding deposits.

The packaging is pretty thick all around! this made me slightly suspect at first that it would "seal" completely within the filter housing. Of course when I removed it there was still quite a large gap around the filter on the input side around the winding. Because of this gap, the sediment from there fell onto neighboring filters. I have since stopped using them after the first 2 gave the same results. In the future I will only buy filters that have a seal on both sides to seal the filter…

I don't like these filters. They are smaller than advertised and have a strong chemical smell!

While searching for a 10 micron reverse osmosis separator I found these pre-filters. Replacement Culligan Sediment Filter

After replacing the well pump, the water became dirty and cloudy. It was a replacement cartridge. This is the primary sediment filter and is not intended to provide crystal clear water. It did a great job of filtering out silt and dirt and suddenly the water pressure in the house was better than ever.

The wrap is quite thick over the entire outer surface! Initially I had a slight suspicion that it would "seal" the filter housing completely. When I removed it, of course, there was still a fairly large gap around the filter on the input side around the winding, through this gap sediment fell from there onto neighboring filters.
