Not suitable for 2014 Toyota Sienna!

Finally installed our short hitch last night after ordering in late July. Came in to install a lighting unit and the connector clips are too big and don't fit our Toyota Sienna at all. The return window is of course already closed. We rush to the AutoZone to see if they have the right lighting kit as we need a trailer today.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Some little things

Watch the YouTube video to do it right.

For my 2007 Sienna it was really just plug and play but with a twist. I was watching a YouTube video from Uhaul showing their tech installing one on a Sienna. Every screw and other parts are included. I sent the video to my son who did the installation. But he didn't look at it and still got it right, except when he was done it didn't work right. Then he looked at it and realized he had inserted it the wrong way round. In 15 minutes we were ready to go.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Interchangeable

I ordered the hitch from amazon.com and the wiring harness of this model was recommended below to fit the hitch, but it actually has a different connector than my Sienna 2020. I'm not sure why the website made that recommendation. Now I've had to order another trailer for $70 and can't even return the wrong model I ordered previously. Not to mention the extra work I'll be paying the technician.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Quick guide

Excellent way to route trailer wiring without splicing existing wiring.

. I wanted to install a wire harness on my 2005 Toyota Sienna without splicing or cutting existing car wiring. While this type of installation is more labor intensive, it should be much more reliable over time as all original wiring remains intact. I went through the instructions and also watched an online video showing how to remove the internal wiring boards. The installation took me about an hour. I chose to leave the plug in the plug storage compartment as I will only be using itโ€ฆ

Didn't work for me

I bought it 1.5 years ago and installed it today. It didn't work :( Installation was very easy and I was happy with that part of the experience. When I hooked it up to the trailer none of the lights worked as they should, the left turn signal turned on all the lights except the blinking of the left turn signal. Right turn signal does nothing and left turn signal never comes on. Fob works great on my stock Chevrolet, so what? again didn't help. I will buy another one other than the only one onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

EASY installation on 2006 Toyota Sienna. Done

The hardest part of this build is proposing to *drill* a hole in the piece of metal for the ground wire. I've attached a photo where you can easily do this without drilling anything. The trick to attaching the ground wire grommet is to use scissors and cut the grommet and then unroll the grommet around the screw in my drawing and then tighten the grommet between the washer and the screw head. It's really easy. The wiring was just the right length and it's really easy. There is a video onโ€ฆ

  • Easy to use

Installed this in my 2007 Sienna along with 4 .

Installed on my 2007 Sienna along with a 4-way flat to both 7-way round and 4-way flat adapter (#57674). My trailer's headlights didn't work properly (sometimes the brake light only worked on one side or the turn signals didn't work). Had my mechanic put new headlights on the trailer but the intermittent issues persisted. After spending nearly $400 on labor and hardware (trailer only), I finally determined that the load for this wiring (probably an adapter) was too much and so replaced the main

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Wiring sets versus

Purchased for my 2008 Toyota Sienna. The instructions say to install a small junction box on the driver's side. Three sets of wires (and a ground wire) come out of this junction box. One set connects to the driver's side taillight, another to the passenger's taillight, and a third to the actual trailer connector that comes out of the car when in use. The problem was that the harness that had to run across the width of the car to the passenger's tail light was the shorter of the two harnessesโ€ฆ

  • Annual trial period
