Subaru Forester 2015

We recommend viewing the installation video for your vehicle (e.g. etrailer.com) before beginning any project. I installed it on a 2015 Subaru Forester and it took about 50 minutes (including cleaning the trunk and putting everything back together. I took my time though. A flathead screwdriver works well for most of the plastic panels you need to remove. There were one or two that were better suited for the car trim It's plug and play (no wire splicing required) I've tested car turn signalsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other kits

Easy installation with a few tips.

Installation on the 2015 Outback is fairly easy with a few tips. After removing the floor panels from the cargo area, first remove the left front mounting tab as well. It is located just behind the left rear seat. Pull the plastic part in the center of the ring to open it, then remove the 10mm cap screw. Once you've done that, if you look up and to the left through this hole, you'll see the white connector. This is what you need to pull down to connect the connector. Removing the fastener makes

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not bad

Fits perfectly in a car plug and is long enough for individual routing. The kit I purchased was installed on a 2017 Crosstrek and was long enough to go from the connector through the back of the trunk, through the hole in the passenger side frame and back through the inside of the bumper fascia to the CURT 58404 4-. Path. The license plate light flat adapter is mounted to the left of the knockout. The included double-sided sticky pad is a nice touch to prevent the box from rattling around theโ€ฆ

Make sure you order a new one from Revain

2011 Subaru Forester bought new and installed after some time this part (Kurt 56040), I don't remember exactly. In 2016 he worked, did not drag for some time, and in 2018 he stopped working. So apparently it's not a "forever" thing. The place you plug it in is under the boot floor, on the driver's side, under the foam to the left of the spare tire, then there's a hole in the foam where you put the connector so you can have the black box underneath the foam and out of the way. I ordered aโ€ฆ

Caused other electrical problems

Very happy with it at first. Simple video instruction, easy installation. Worked great on a few trips with my boat trailer. Then the poltergeist entered the room. My turn signals (orange) are on. stay. on the. Even when the car is off! I didn't tie it to this harness for several hours. I've checked fuses, pulled codes, etc. On a whim, I pulled the white wire sleeve and voila, no more problems. Not sure what happened. Maybe bad soil? I installed the white ground wire/screw as directed, but maybe

Plug and play on the 2011 Outback. Works well with the Uhaul trailer so far.

Best of all, there are no wires to cut or splice. Aside from having to drill a hole, everything on the 2011 Outback 2.5i Premium was just plug and play. It took a while to locate the factory connector which sits behind the driver's rear quarter panel and in front of the C-pillar bracket. The factory connector had a very short cord, so it was a little tricky to connect without removing the panel, but managed to connect. I drilled a hole for a ground screw of the size specified in theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • External Accessories
Cons
  • Almost everything ok

Works great on 2019 Subaru Forester.

It was easier than the instructions said. I have a 2019 Subaru Forester Touring. All I had to do was remove the trim that runs along the u-groove of the tailgate latch. It was held in place by four hidden plastic clips. Just pull straight up and it will pop right out. It is best to also remove the two clips that hold the molded hard foam floor part on the left side next to the rear wheel. After that, you can get under the plastic panel to the back of the panel closest to the sunroof opening and

Excellent wiring harness. Installation. not much.

This wiring harness matched the factory connection perfectly on my 2018 Subaru Outback. It is well made, the wiring is clearly labeled and has a built in fuse. It even comes with a dust cap for the plug. The only problem is that the factory plug it plugs into is very difficult to reach. It is hidden under the left rear upholstery panel and is held in place with a piece of blue tape. It's completely invisible and barely noticeable when you try to slide your fingers out from under the hard panel.

Pros
  • Hitch Accessory
Cons
  • Small Parts
