It was easier than the instructions said. I have a 2019 Subaru Forester Touring. All I had to do was remove the trim that runs along the u-groove of the tailgate latch. This wiring harness matched the factory connection perfectly on my 2018 Subaru Outback. It is well made, the wiring is clearly labeled and has a built in fuse. It even comes with a dust cap for the plug. The only problem is that the factory plug it plugs into is very difficult to reach. It is hidden under the left rear upholstery panel and is held in place with a piece of blue tape.
