Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I use one day, very satisfied. Speed over 200 Mbps in both directions. Plugged it in and it all worked, everything flies. I haven’t fixed any failures and quirks yet, for this money it’s just some kind of holiday, I bought it for 1600. I use it in my laptop because the built-in Wi-Fi has died, the repair is very expensive. Addition. Yuzayu 3 months, no problems, everything is fine.

Pros
  • Compact, cheap, high-speed, supports both bands, easy to connect, stable.
Cons
  • Until I discovered

not so good in USB network adapters

cheap, I admit. Maybe that should have been my first clue. For me this is the third or fourth replacement of this product. It stops working every time for several months. This lasted for almost a year. If you don't mind paying dirty cheap just to have it changed at least twice a year, get this. If you're looking for a quality adapter that will last longer and cost a little more, you should definitely look elsewhere.

Bad Experience - Networking Products

It was really good at first, quick and fast. But within the first month it disconnected to the point where I had to uninstall and reconnect it. As a content creator, I have to refresh the page and lose all my progress, which frustrates me. I have tried to give this wifi adapter the benefit of the doubt by continuing to use it for 5 months and the same problem keeps popping up multiple times a day, day after day. Your experience may be different, but I would consider other options first.

Only works on 2.4GHz :-(

I only love it because a friend gave it to me for free a few years ago. Plugged it into my network 5GHz, CH165, 40MHz and the old rev .A works ok.. This Rev.B2 only recognizes 2.4GHz but device manager shows it is a dual band Rev.B2 (unlike my old Rev.A).Tried on a PC with the old Rev.A DWA-160, same problem, I hope RMA fast and send me a working 5Ghz device, I will update this post once the device works again, I'm wondering if they have this test refurbished devices before shipping? !

Get the correct hardware version

Be careful, you might insist on hardware version B2 for this device. Not all versions of the DWA-160 are the same, the batch I recently ordered cannot be used so I have to return them all. The listing does not indicate a hardware version, so this listing cannot be trusted. Only lists that include the hardware version are useful lists. So DWA-160 doesn't mean anything, you need something like DWA-160-B2 (unless you need an earlier version). The ones I got were A2 hardware versions and don't work

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Can't see my 802.1N 5GHz network

This thing can't see my 802.1N 5GHz network. Even my Smart TV sees this network, as do a few iPhones, a few iPads, and a desktop workstation. (Although a year-old smart TV couldn't see the network either). The D-Link support rep threw up his hands and said that there was nothing he could do as all the procedures that were given to her were aimed at fixing the issue where the device was not working at all while this device was working fine because I saw and joined other networks. It just…

Does NOT work with Windows 7 x64

I am using this with a D-Link D-628 router and it does not work with my Windows 7 x64 computer. Once I was able to get the D-Link connection manager up and running, I pressed the button on the adapter and then the button on my router that should connect them. Nothing has happened. Entering my SSID address manually didn't work either. I don't blame Win 7, I blame D-Link. The Win 7 Beta and RC versions have been around for over a year and D-Link has no excuse that D-Link does not have updated…

Great adapter, good price!

I bought two of these along with the D-Link DIR-825 Extreme-N Dual Band Gigabit Router. I decided to upgrade my old Wireless G network to an upgraded N network. It worked fine but it got overloaded from time to time and had to reboot the router. That was the reason for the update! As you can see, I am now entering the world of media streaming (DLNA). I use Mezzmo on two home devices. desktop computer and stream content to my Sony PlayStation 3. I also watch downloaded content and access my huge

Good wireless adapter with some issues

I didn't want to install the D-Link software that came with the wireless adapter because I knew Windows 7 would install the drivers for me. Not correct. Windows 7 installed the drivers after I plugged in the adapter, but I couldn't connect to my wireless networks (I have 2 of them, an N and a G with a D-Link 825 router). So this is a D-Link adapter trying to connect to a D-Link router. The wireless networks show up in Windows 7, but I still get the message that I can't connect. So I finally…

Not ready for prime time yet

D-Link DWA-160 works well BUT there is no equivalent that can match its capabilities. I have been using the D-Link 655 for many years and it has worked flawlessly. I wanted to upgrade to a system that could stream decent quality movies, so I bought a better multi-channel system. It just doesn't work. We spent 5 times 2-3 hours with D-Link technical support to get the handshake router working with 3 DWA-160 dual band USB adapters. Now I can enjoy constant audio dropouts when streaming. Constant…
