That's for all these bad reviews

I don't understand why some of the winners I don't know how to install say it's a bad product maybe you should definitely read your manual and look on youtube how to install very easy install very easy works and like any product that comes into contact with water needs to be lubricated

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Works great.

My husband had mixed feelings when he bought this mounting system. We have a bass boat and he wanted an electric anchor. Everyone had good and bad reviews. He decides to go. We tightened it ourselves with drum screws and it works like a charm. We have used it on two trips with no problems. Very happy with it so far.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Great windlass!

I bought this for my pontoon. I installed it in about 1.5 hours and it worked like a champ! I used it for 7 days on a very large lake with lots of whitewater and boat traffic with no problems. I used a 25lb mushroom anchor with it and it raised and lowered it very quickly. My friend who fished with me is convinced he needs it now. Great product so far!

A must have item for pontoon owners

Definitely a must have if you anchor your boat at least once. No more pulling the rope or throwing it in a tangle. Just click "outdeploy" and you're done. When you're ready to go, just press and hold the up button and that's it. Once the anchor is in the cradle, everything is ready. I enjoyed the lightness of it all. We had some issues with the winch but the company did their best to fix them. A great purchase that will add even more fun to your boating experience.

BUYER WARNING: Not to be used in less than a summer

When it worked we were happy. After less than a year of use, she suddenly collapsed and dropped her anchor. When trying to weigh the anchor, the spool did not catch on the rope. Just clicked. I had to manually pull the anchor rope to raise it. We will fix and update this review in the near future. UPDATE: The block was beyond repair as the metal weld inside the gear had sheared off. I gave up on this device and bought another, more expensive device from another manufacturer, which has worked…

I would not hesitate to buy again

After reading the reviews posted I was skeptical as it was about 50/50 for the whole product. I bought a 30lb anchor for this as it was rated at 40lbs and it wasn't comfortable making the most of a winch with such mixed ratings. I installed it and have only been able to use it on 6 different trips so far with no issues. Auto-deployment and remote management were great! Just know that once the auto-delivery hits bottom, you have to press the up button to stop it. It's not like he continues to…

Doomed for docking and mooring equipment

The TRAC 40 was easy to install and works great on my driveway. On the water, unfortunately, it is practically useless. It turns easily enough and gives enough slack to allow the anchor to snag on the bottom of the lake. But "pulling out" the anchor usually involves a series of tripping the breaker, repeatedly waiting for the breaker to reset, and usually ends with me simply pulling the anchor in by hand. And it's not hard to see why that is. If your anchor is doing what it's supposed to do and

Love it. the best in boating and sailing

Earlier this summer I installed a Deckboat 35 on my 21 foot pontoon. I use a 15 pound vinyl coated river mushroom anchor with it. I was concerned that he might not have the strength to pull him up from the bottom of our muddy lake, so I emailed Trek. They said not to use it to lift it off the ground but first use the power of the boat to get it out. Boy, that eliminates a lot of the need for a power anchor. So I ignored her advice and used it to get the anchor out of the deep mud. The winch…
