Replaces our old Dell Inspiron

The laptop my wife used primarily is showing its age. The power cord looked twisted and looked like it was about to fail and came out of the laptop too easily. Recently, my wife received reports that the CHKDSK program was running when she ran it, sometimes running for about 10 minutes before she could use it. I'm a retired IT professional, so I calculated that given the age of the current laptop, its processor speed, RAM, video, etc., it would be time to get a new one. My wife does research on

Very good laptop for computers and accessories

Although I've only recently owned this computer I found it impressive and just what I wanted in a budget laptop. With the help of my IT daughter, we were able to move all the programs and files I needed from my old all-in-one computer that was almost obsolete. This new one is much faster and loads almost instantly. So far I like it very much and I hope to use it for a few years.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled

Nearly perfect for traditional laptops

I've been using this laptop for about a month and have only found 3 things that could be improved. 1) The keyboard needs a backlight. I often work in low light and the lack of a backlight makes typing difficult. I got around this by tilting the screen down slightly to illuminate the keyboard. That's my biggest complaint. 2) The SD card must be fully inserted when inserting. Instead it only goes about 1/2 of the way. This prevents you from inserting a card and leaving it there all the time. 3)…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • unreliable

Great versatile laptop.

This is a great laptop for the price. This model is a good mid-range laptop with a smooth processor, great graphics and a simple user interface. If you're looking for a good all-purpose laptop for casual gaming, this is a great option.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The touchpad is a fatal flaw

This laptop has a lot of advantages - a fast processor, a lot of main memory SSD, a lot of RAM, FHD screen. It boots and shuts down remarkably quickly. WLAN and keyboard are sufficient. It would be a great computer, but it has one fatal flaw: the touchpad. The left- and right-click touchpad areas aren't easy to use (the nicest spots are in the far bottom corners), and the cursor movement part is so sensitive that if you move it over the linked portion of the screen, it does will open everything

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Appearance

Good buy for basic needs

Works great I keep my mines in S mode This is my third Dell I've bought and I'm always happy with Dell laptops, so I can't compare them to other brands. One thought that struck me about this laptop is smudges, which are very easy and not that easy to wipe off πŸ‘Ž. I've attached a photo of my old Dell and the exterior material is different. Maybe using a laptop sleeve (sticker) can help with noticeable finger smudges, but other than that it works great for me.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it everything is fine

Good machine, runs Linux, easy to expand - two or three, but

I bought this machine to run Linux and didn't wait long to install the latest Ubuntu 21.04 . It's working well, so I upgraded to 16GB of storage using the modules I already had, plus an additional drive in the form of a 2.5" SSD on top of the built-in NVMe SSD. After removing the back cover, it went smoothly and I am completely satisfied with the result. A few warnings though: * Linux battery life is poor. I can't comment on Windows, but I only use it for about 3 hours before I need the charger

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • I'll add later
