DWS779 Yes, it works!

I got a good discount on my DWS779 probably because it is no longer made. As many of you may or may not know, this is the same saw as the DWS780 without the XPS Easy Cutting System. In any case, I needed crown bar stops, and while my model isn't listed, it works. I have attached pictures. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some troubles

Unreliable security mechanism.

I have the third set of these staples. On another stand I still have the old version that I bought before this new one. The old one works fine. In the new version, the safety mechanism fails, putting you in a much more dangerous situation - trying to detach a bracket with both hands without dropping the saw from the stand! Dewalt, you can certainly do better! Can this be fixed?

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Only available in black

Savior of Reason! in Accessories

First, I'm not a professional, just a skilled handyman. Second, I have a DeWalt miter saw. These little guys were VERY helpful. I hang ledges all over the house. They are metal and fit my miter saw perfectly. They keep the crown perfect and straight so I get the perfect cut every time. Of course I could lay the crown horizontally and make a bevel cut, but that makes the job a lot easier as you only have to adjust the bevel. You are making a crown and are easily confused like me, take these…

upset. Cannot cut 7-1/4 " hole saw

I bought this for my Dewalt DWS779 12" sliding arm miter saw. Although they are suitable for a saw, you cannot cut a large crown. I needed them specifically for the 7 1/4" crown. The hold and hope method is unreliable and unsafe for a nested crown of this size. Unfortunately, these stops only open about 4 inches, not the 5 inches I use Seems silly that Dewalt can't make them an inch bigger and allow you to cut all standard US sizes.I'll either cut new holes in my saw or weld something new so I…

What was wrong with the old ones?

Not only are these items unnecessary compared to the old ones, the added safety features make them even more dangerous. I'm still trying to figure out what was wrong with the old design. I've been using the old ones for over 10 years and never thought they would be improved or needed an extra security feature. They are still on my old saw and I will be replacing them with these. I made this decision after somehow pinching my pinky finger with a fuse yesterday. He ripped a piece of flesh right…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Socket required

Easy way to avoid tricky crown cutting

Small clean product, two metal jaws and two plastic gripped screws securing the jaws to the side of the saw table. The molded part to be machined can be placed very easily on the fence, with the top on the table and the bottom on the fence, with the supporting surfaces having to be pressed against the fence and the table. This does what the Kreg Crown-Pro does and has the advantage of being able to easily use workpiece supports, for example on a DeWalt DWX723 or DWX724 miter saw bed. It is…

Worked on my Kobalt and I bet they can be installed on other brands

I read a lot of reviews before buying them and they all talked about installing them on Dewalt miter saws. I was watching a YouTube video of a guy moving them around on his Dewalt miter saw to use on the large crown moldings. I figured I could do the same with my newly purchased cobalt miter saw. Got them yesterday, went to Lowe and bought a drill and tap combo (tap) 8mm with a 1.25 tap. I marked a spot on the edge of the saw to make sure it wouldn't interfere with the work under the saw. I…
