Stopped working on the first try! The power was working but the colors of the numbers were all the same so I couldn't read the degree. Will return.

We crackle peanuts every fall and it's always hard to find good digital thermometers. They always run out for a few years and then shit. This has worked well on our 45 batches this year, the clamp holds the pan well and the silicone coating seems to help with heat dissipation. Only a year old but happy with performance so far.

this product was amazing read the temperature well i was able to read the screen even with some condensation on the thermometer. I would buy it again, the reason I gave it 3 runs is because after the 5th time I used it it stopped working. When I opened the inside to replace the battery, there was some rust inside. Not sure if this is from normal use or if I have one that has been sitting for a while.

I used this thermometer to finish maple syrup. It would be nice if the thermometer measured degrees in units rather than in increments of two. Maple syrup cannot be heated above 219 degrees Fahrenheit or it will turn into candy. Also, the information that came with the thermometer says it can deviate by 2 degrees. Again, this is not accurate enough. I was afraid to walk at every turn. This gets my syrup above 217. The thermometer worked well for my maple syrup.

When I received this thermometer it was not working. I suspect it needs a new battery so I tried removing the battery as instructed. It was very difficult to remove and after a few small snips with my fingers the wire connecting the tip to the probe came out completely. I can only hope that after plugging in the cable and with a new battery it will work, which I'm sure will cost as much or more than the device itself. Not a good buy so far.

The thermometer lasted about 9 months with almost daily use (taking milk temperature for cappuccino). Now the temperature is 20 degrees higher than the actual temperature. It was probably a bit high for a while, but 20 degrees is no use. I hand washed it without submerging it in water and there is no sign of water getting into the thermometer. But it says it can be submerged in water, but when I opened it to change the battery I saw that there was no O-ring to protect it from water. I expected…

It's great as the meat or candy thermometer it's advertised for, but I had to use it in a larger pouring jar when making candles and it just wasn't long enough for the purpose. The photo looks like the stem is longer than it really is (must have been done by a man) but I should have read the measurements before buying. Update: Obviously the power button is tricky, and even when you think you've pressed it, sometimes it's still on. Make sure it's really turned off before tossing it in a drawer, and the battery will last anywhere from a few months to a year. I've bought replacement batteries like 20 for $5 and will have them installed for years to come. When the battery runs out, simply pull back the silicone grip and gently lift the top. This product was a good price at the time of purchase but the first one I got didn't work and was replaced for free. The second worked fine for several months, but then it started turning on but didn't show a temperature. I've tried changing the battery and turning it on and off multiple times or submerging it in cold or hot water but nothing has changed.
