Does not support high resolution and refresh rate

My 38 inch gaming monitor (LG 38wn95c) runs at 3840 x 1600 at 144 Hz refresh rate. Resolution and refresh rate correspond to the Displayport 1.4 specification. I can get the switch up to 3840 x 1600 at 75Hz but not higher. evaluate.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works for 3440 x 1440 120Hz

I am using this for 3440 x 1440 120Hz Ultra Wide Screen and it works exactly as expected on Windows 10, macOS and Linux. I am using cables designed for DisplayPort 1.4. The only downside I have is that it requires a USB power cable, which seems excessive to me. Note that switching is essentially the physical movement of a cable between devices. That's exactly what I wanted, just to point out that this isn't a KVM switch.

Doesn't work in 1440p(120Hz) with GSYNC

When using this switch, the display kept flickering, cracking and crashing. The product is advertised for 4K (120Hz), I only used it in 1440p (120Hz) with GSYNC. The cables used were DP 1.4, 3 feet long (1m) for a total of 6 feet or 2 meters. The display works great with both cables individually. If the switch is not obviously defective, then it may simply not be compatible with GYSNC, although the seller answered a question in the customer FAQ that it was compatible. Return an item for aโ€ฆ

Doesn't work with G-Sync

I bought this to switch between my gaming PC and Mac Mini. I haven't encountered any issues with it using my Mac Mini. When playing video games on a computer, the video is interrupted for half a second. I think this happens every time g-sync tries to change the refresh rate. A lot happens. Depending on the game, it may be completely unplayable. I used good quality 1 and 2 meter DP cables and tested the cables individually connected directly between the PC and the monitor. There were no problems

Not ultrawide friendly.

This product is terrible for my configuration. X34 is connected to game console with 2080ti and Razer 15 is connected to egpu with 2080ti. The product cannot keep a stable picture above 60Hz! Then it also started to flicker at 60Hz. I'm assuming it can't run ultrawide with gsync since I disabled gsync and subtracted 100hz down to 60hz to see if the image stabilized. nope Will return. Don't buy if you have an ultra wide. I've tried changing DP cables several times and verified that they areโ€ฆ

  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Wasn't used as a monitor switch in my setup

It's very important to know that this switch doesn't act as the monitor part of a KVM switch. The KVM switch simulates the presence of a monitor for devices that are not actually displayed, so they don't know the monitor isn't there. It's more like unplugging the monitor and plugging it into another device - the computer going offline registers a disconnect event and the desktop is reconfigured. I have a PC with a GTX 1660 Ti with 3 DP monitors and a Mac Mini which I usually use via TeamViewer.

Damn unreliable - not recommended

I bought two of these. I have a Samsung ultra wide gaming monitor with two DisplayPorts and one HDMI port. It has a picture-by-picture feature that allows me to switch between two computers with a few clicks from the OSD. Two computers: I have a 2013 Mac Pro with two GPUs, each capable of running at 2560 x 1440 @ 100Hz via Thunderbolt ports, one connected to a DP 1.4 port and the other connected to the monitor's HDMI port have. I'm also using a Windows 10 computer with an NVIDIA RTX 3090 GPUโ€ฆ

I can not believe that! It works! 3440x1440 120Hz!

UPDATE: 05/16/21 I've been using this device for almost 3 months now and can no longer fully recommend it with a 5-star rating. Don't get me wrong, it still does its job, but every once in a while I'll run into image dropouts where the monitor doesn't turn off completely but the image flickers for less than a second. I don't swap it out too often, but enough to question the capabilities of this device. All this while using very short Displayport 1.4 cables when trying to run my panel at aโ€ฆ

A cheap (but good) multi-monitor KVM setup.

I bought two of these and a USB switching hub to create a cheap multi-monitor KVM setup for about $100 (compared to two-channel KVMs that starting at $250 and can easily go up to $500 for decent quality, and they don't necessarily support DP1.3+). This allows me to easily switch any monitor and peripheral between my work and home computers during WFH. In terms of quality, the device has a metal body and feels solid. I'm planning on attaching mine to the back of the monitor but haven't quiteโ€ฆ
