This is our third replacement in twelve years. It does its job but I think after a while it just gets depressed with the user cooking and offering and starts falling apart. I would too.

Original has approx. 14 years. This item was the replacement I needed to scrap my model. Looks just like mine before time took its toll. The price may be high, but there isn't much choice. Remember, DO NOT WASH IN THE DISHWASHER. Use an old toothbrush to get into all those hard-to-reach places.

Works in my Insinkerator Evolution Cover Control. For me, this part wore out every few years, whether I got it from the manufacturer or a third party. The prices are mostly ridiculous. This one looks like a fake, but mine had "Insinkerator" on the actual item. We'll see how long that lasts, but the manufacturer has set the bar pretty low in my opinion. If it lasts 2 years, it's a winner.

Fits tight, but I'd like to be looser. Is working. I had to replace the original 75257 incinerator lid inspection plugs about every 3 years because the plastic coating on the magnets would invariably crack and water would get into the magnets which would then swell and prevent the plug from getting into the mouth for disposal. This is the fourth cork I've been through - funny how much longer the disposal for corks was - and corks are expensive - $40 each.

Fancy recycling with a magnetic switch seemed like a clever way to market the product. However, most of my friends who decided to install this type of switches were unaware of the downsides of the magnet stop. It cannot be washed in the dishwasher. Moisture will gradually leak into the area around the magnets, and when it becomes difficult to dispose of, it's time to buy a new connector.
