good value for money

I was only able to persuade myself to buy this product because of the customer reviews I had read. This item was not the right size for my water still, but thanks to the advice in the customer reviews I was able to see how this filter could work. Everything worked out because I was advised to soak the filter in warm water to get rid of excess coal dust. And then it was malleable enough to squeeze into the head of a water still.

Pros
  • few competitors
Cons
  • minor defects

FILTERS DID NOT WORK FOR ME

These filters did not work when used in my stainless steel megahome tabletop burner. They were too big to fit properly and the charcoal filter covers seemed to repel water. I was able to cram them into a filtration station and distil multiple times, getting 1 gallon each time. They did not remove the chemical smell from the distilled water, which I believe is from the volatile organic compounds in tap water. I got them back on credit and ordered filter packs from Nutriteam (a megahome company)…

Terrible for megahome distillers. Too big and poor quality

We bought these filters hoping they would be a good replacement for the standard filters that came with the Megahome and immediately realized that they were too big for the burner's ceramic nozzle were. You have to stuff them in there and risk breaking the bag and scattering coal everywhere. And the bag itself is a mesh material that doesn't allow for full absorption of water, causing it to drain much more slowly. It also doesn't taste as clean as the original filters. I would encourage anyone…

About the same size as my burner's filters. Has multiple uses.

TASTE: I am pleased to report that after 2 gallons of water preparation the taste is clear. My son couldn't tell the difference between this water and bottled water. PACKAGING AND PACKAGING: The filters are supplied in a thick, resealable plastic bag. The items are not as transparent but they are about the same size as my sample burner. Update: My water distiller is called SURPCOS Water Distiller. The cheapest Revain on the market, carried out by Revain. SIZE: The sachet is about the same size…

  • Absolutely amazing!

If water were bullets these "filters " would be bulletproof vests

I saw one of the sellers (Pro Products) respond to a buyer's question about the materials used to make them they are made in bags. The seller's response is essentially a slap in the face and ignores the fact that the material is the root cause of the problem. Polypropylene is used to make plastics that repel water. It is non-polar and hydrophobic in nature. Without urinating. These filters are used to filter out distilled droplets. Non reverse osmosis with 40psi water pressure. These FBA…

Pros
  • Twice as much charcoal as comparable filters - quality bags
Cons
  • Very expensive

Update: They're useless I've tried everything and like other people have said you can pour water in them and they'll still be full in 20 minutes. It looks more like a plastic bag than a filter. You'll need to use a tea bag and some good quality charcoal as nobody seems to be selling working filters. They seem to have a lot of charcoal in them, but the ones I have seem almost waterproof. When I tried to rinse the paper I was about to use, the charcoal plucked paper appeared to be waterproof and…

Pros
  • Makes water taste fresh and clean
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Having used several of these filters in my Megahome still I am posting to warn that this Filters are of very poor quality. First, the filter is a bit big for the megahome filter holder. I have to work to squeeze it in and make it fit. Most importantly, the filter breaks down badly after about 3 or 4 uses (1 gallon of water per use). I "distill water" about every other day (sometimes daily). Between distillations, I take the filter out to let it air dry (so it doesn't get uncomfortable if it…

Pros
  • Works with Megahome water stills and others
Cons
  • Not trendy
