🔌 Dorman 741-832: Front Passenger Side Power Window Regulator and Motor for Ford Models – Black Review

Great replacement for my '93 Ranger. The setup isn't do-it-yourself for beginners, but if you're mechanically inclined it's not too bad. This is my second Dorman lift, the first has worked great for over 2 years.

Replaced a faulty regulator in my son's 2000 Ford Ranger. I machined the old rivet and removed the old regulator. Used new rivets to install this replacement block. Please note that a special rivet gun with a large shank is required for the installation of large rivets. The Big Stock Pistol is available cheaply from Revain. Restored work in Windows. Like new.

I ordered this part to upgrade my truck with no power options. Obviously this required more than a controller and motor, but once I finished the whole project the windows started working as I expected, quietly, smoothly and quickly. This item was about $25 cheaper than my local Autozone and who knows how much cheaper than an OEM Autozone. Anyway, I'm glad I checked here first and saved myself good money.

Part not as strong as OEM (Original). In particular, the motor is not as reliable and does not allow the motor mount to be reused from an OEM part. Probably no problem. In general, the block works well. I ended up using short stainless bolts and nuts instead of rivets. I had to loosen and tape two screws to secure before I could install

I bought this unit and am very happy with it. It was galvanized, there was no factory unit. Fits perfectly, slightly smaller than the factory unit which makes it easy to install. No mounting hardware was included, but I only used four 1/4-20x1/2" bolts with lock washers and nuts. It arrived ahead of the estimated time of arrival. The price was less than half what local parts retailers are asking Great price, good fit, free shipping, works like a charm.

This engine runs better than the driver's side engine. (I've now replaced the driver's side as well.) I'm glad they included rivets to install this unit. There was a place in my old block I could crawl out of and install the top right bolt. (It was previously replaced) This unit requires at least a rivet to be used on the top right screw of the 4 screws/rivets required for installation.

Window regulator fits well and works smoothly. I ended up changing the electrical connections from the old ones to the new ones. The new one was large enough to be difficult to fit into the matching slot. The old power window had a bracket around the motor housing. The new one didn't have one and was a different size, so the mount wouldn't attach. For this reason I did not use the 5th rivet included in the kit. Other than the two things mentioned, it was an easy fix. Everything else came easy…

In general I am satisfied. It's missing a bracket that the factory regulator had, but that's not a problem as far as I can tell. I ordered a set of Dorman screws and rivets and settled on the screws. Note that it is easier to tighten the top right screw when the lever is in the fully down position. You will then need to put a piece of tape on it to hold it in place, use it as the first guide screw. Then move the lever to its fully raised position and slide it into the door, place the bar on the
