Great solution for adding a second heat supply to a 347 Stroker

This is a lightweight part but it works if you are trying to add a second heat supply for an electronic fan sender unit or whatever. It's not chrome, more of a shiny aluminum, but it's great for what I need it to be. Bolted well to my 347 stroker, just feels light compared to my old chrome so I gently tighten it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Expensive

Bad product and name

I bought one of these against my judgment ignoring the bad reviews. This product is CHEAP and it really shows. The mating surface is badly scratched and even deformed, resulting in a MISSING SEAL. Also, the plug on the top for the auxiliary fan control sensor will also leak with thread sealant since the threads are stripped and the hole is oval rather than round.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works fine - spares

Not sure what the problem is with the others as they are full of slag or have rough or straight mounting edges etc to wipe down, some mold dust and a few scraps of metal. Clean it up, whatever teflon connector or sensor you want to use, screw it on and boom!. However, when I bought the thermostat, I received another coated gasket from the ATV gasket maker to hold it in place and help seal it. NO LEAK!

  • Works great for me

fits - make sure you remove the pipe plug and apply sealant to it!

1985 f150 302 EFI. In typical Dorman fashion this is an incomplete assembly, there is no thread sealant on the connector but it is installed. If you want to ship it this way to save 0.02c you should leave the plug out or put a dab of sealant on top and tighten. So now our shop gets 85% of the spare parts from this company. They used to be the industry standard. Now it's just a Chinese lap dog. Trained master mechanic and shopkeeper from 1988 to the present day.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not fancy

Arrived with tons of mold flash inside and out. Had to spend 20 minutes with a dremel to clean the hose mating surfaces. There were many sharp edges and protrusions that could cause leaks. That thing is NOT steel. It is made of a non-magnetic material. No big deal I guess while it lasts. WARNING: DO NOT use the supplied gasket. The supplied seal is complete scrap and will leak. Also remove the top brass plug and tape it over with teflon tape BEFORE installation. It WILL flow even if you don't.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results

Fits and works well for spares

The previous thermostat housing was corroded so I decided to replace it to ensure a better seal on the upper radiator hose. It was one of the cheapest options. Still, it fit well, the flange was flat and the seal was airtight. It has a decent thickness of aluminum to give it plenty of time before rusting. As someone else pointed out, if you don't need an extra bypass port (I don't), take the connector out, put tape on it, and screw it in place. Finally, once you've fixed any leaks in the…

Great price Bad deal

I really thought I got a good deal. Hey, the hoses and the gasket cost less than the price of the gasket alone. When I received it I noticed a defect, but the plane of the metal where it was attached seemed flat. I've put this case on a total of four times because it was leaking. I always thought I did something wrong and maybe I didn't put enough sealant on the gasket. But even when I fixed the engine mount leaks, there was a new leak, a set screw on top that hadn't even been used for…
