This is a very economical item. When I installed it, it kept wanting to fall apart. I wrapped it in tape to keep it closed, hope it holds it together to keep it working for a while.

Cable worked well after the original cable broke. Installation was quick and easy. I used a metal screw instead of the standard plastic screw. The round piece just snaps into place and the other end is held in place better with a small metal screw, nut and washer bought at Home Depot for less than a dollar. Fast shipping too.

I was able to fix my trunk lock with this cable but it *does* not look exactly like the original. I had to dig up some nuts and bolts and it barely hangs where it's mounted. My car is old so I will take care of it and open the trunk again. but if I had to make the same purchase I would definitely choose a higher quality part.

I've been looking for this trunk latch for a while - it's frustrating when your key won't open the trunk (good thing I have a trunk release switch in my car). It's a replacement part, and it's on the cheaper side, so be careful when putting it on. In any case, it serves its purpose and now I can open my trunk from the outside.

I have never returned anything to Revain. When I screwed in the last screw, the back of the part covering the keyhole fell off (I realized that when I heard the *PLUNK* sound) and I didn't touch it, and then the back of the part , covering the keyhole . The latch of the case, along with the inner spring, fell right into my hand. Everything just collapsed. I should have listened to other reviews on this product. Thank you Dorman for wasting my time and money.

The first unit I bought broke a few weeks after installation. I'm buying a second device because I couldn't find a better one. I think the side next to the trunk opening mechanism is very weak and is kind of split and broken. The side that is on the lock with the key can be felt and doesn't usually latch, and when you try to open it with the key, that part also rotates with the lock, preventing the cable from twisting and opens the trunk.
