fits like factory mirrors

used these mirrors on a restoration of a 1984 Ford F250. I was disappointed to see rust on the fasteners and brackets two months after installation. I would not recommend buying these mirrors.

Pros
  • great for me
Cons
  • expensive

Very good deal in body and finish

I thought it was going to be crap as they were so cheap (they were 10.99 when I bought them). Anyway I ordered 2 of these for my 69 f100 and they arrived in the mail and are amazingly good quality. They also shine very nicely. The best mirror for the price.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Compatibility

The installation kit therefore had no 19 89 vintage parts.

Installation kit did not include 19 89 vintage parts so they will not work. The hinges on the mirror are too loose for the mirrors to adjust with the door closed. brackets fit. One star for that alone!

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Chrome is so bad on the brackets

Absolute crap. I should have listened to other reviews about this. The chrome on the brackets is so bad it looks like it was spray painted there. Attaching the mirror is a joke (like everyone said). You close the door and the mirror moves. Absolutely NOTHING like OEM. Don't buy this.

Cons
  • not reliable

Not for light trucks

These mirrors are of good quality. They were just wrong. When I ordered these mirrors the ad said they fit my Ford Ranger. Not so unless I took a chance and made a change, drilling holes in the doors and hoping they wouldn't wobble because the bottom bracket would be in the softer part of the door panel. I looked further and bought some of the OEM compatible ones. I have to commend DORMAN for the fast shipping and easy return service via Revain.

  • Dope 🔥

Garbage. Don't buy it. Not an exact fit or replacement. Very close.

The hand hole placement doesn't match the 1989 F-250 hand but I managed to bend it to fit. The mirror itself wobbles and moves at highway speeds and when you hit bumps. I'll keep it for now as the other original broke but I'll visit junkyards or Ebay to see if I can find a better one. I don't like how the head is held by the small ball head. It is not durable and allows the head to move.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • So far so good

How can a company get away with developing such a terrible product?

Save yourself the hassle and don't buy this junk from Dorman. That is, if you really want the side mirror to be used for decorative purposes only. It doesn't work for many other things. Take the time to set it up so you can actually see what's coming at the back of your truck, get in and close the door. Oh oh! The mirror moved, and not just a little. Go back out, check the alignment of the mirrors, this time gently close the door. Got off the spot, drove onto a small bump. Oh oh! The mirror…

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • bad buy for old folks

Much lower quality than OEM

Let me start by saying that I am generally happy with Dorman products. This is definitely an exception. I assume it's entirely possible that this will match some cars exactly, but I can assure you it will NOT fit (or look the same) on my 1993 Ford F250's OEM mirrors. The mounting points (where it bolts to the door itself) isn't the same pattern as the OEM, but the aluminum construction means you can bend it to fit I think. Also, the lever itself can only be positioned 3 ways (inward 45 degrees,

  • Great for a small home
