This is a misadvertised product. The material is of poor quality and overpriced. In the picture the product looks like a similar one from the art of shaving. It also appears to be stainless steel, but it's not. It's cheap plastic and very light. I bought it with the impression that the materials would be better from the photo. Don't buy this.

This razor requires a shorter learning curve than others I've used. Now I can shave my beard in or out pretty easily. The frame is a little lighter than I expected. In fact, it felt a little "cheap" in the hand until I really understood what the product was. I also bought him Shark single razors and they work great! This is a great little razor and a great gateway. into the world of straight razors and wet shaving.

The pen is cheap plastic and doesn't have the Dovo logo as shown in the picture. Part of the blade holder was damaged and the red part holding the blade was stuck and almost impossible to pull out. It sticks so badly that from putting too much effort in pulling it out (to replace the blade) I cut my thumb and had to get 7 stitches today. Update December 2020; The scale broke at the turning point. Very easy use. It was nice while it worked as it gave a nice close shave. It wasn't abuse. Plastic scales are very flimsy and won't last long. Not recommended. I have to spend money on Feather Artist Club DX. I hate losing money on defective products like the Dovo plastic razor. Let me start by saying that I have some experience with razors and have tried most of them. This is the best so far. Made 3 passes without a single cut or cut. I like the fact that the plastic guard covers the outer end of the blade. I had 2 clear blade holders and 2 standard DE blades. No long blade holders or long blades were included.

I would say compared to my $8 Rasett this thing looks like a fisher price toy BUT wow it works fine. you have much more control. The light weight allows the razor to respond to your face in a way you just can't feel with a heavy Parker style razor. The design of the plastic holder also seems to act as an amplifier, making shaving noises significantly louder. This feedback really helps to understand how your shave is going.
