Purchased to replace the flat DVD drive in my new PC (HP). I had to buy an extra cable as there is no way to route it in the new case. But with long SATA cables, it works like an external drive. It's a little noisy, but that's partly because it's being used as an external drive.

Order delivered as expected. The product is new, in a sealed box, first quality. I checked it out but haven't installed it yet; I don't expect any problems. So this item was listed among about a dozen competing items on the PC Parts Picker website, and I chose it based on reviews, quality, experience with the manufacturer, and price. They outperform similar products by $10 to $30.

Incredibly quiet for an optical drive, environmentally friendly and good power consumption and better than I expected.
