Wonderful product, cleaned up the soot left over from my small kitchen fire, see picture for proof. The only downside is that the price is a bit high and the thickness of the sponge is 2 times less than the competition. It is not very convenient to apply. Overall great quality but usability is ok but not great.

Didn't remove the soot from the walls very well, I was very disappointed! You spend so much on one product and it just takes the grime off, I'm glad I didn't buy 2 of these. Our propane stove hasn't blown out and been smoking all winter, someone's gotta do their job! But I wouldn't recommend this sponge either! As if my husband didn't work either. 😝 😝 😝

Purchased to light the fireboxes as described by other reviewers and the product but did not work. They were difficult to maneuver in your hands and barely moved on the surface. Perhaps because the walls of the firebox are made of porous ceramics. I'll be looking for another homemade scrub recipe, but I'm glad I tried it first to be sure before doing this.

I used these sponges to remove soot from the basement ceiling. I couldn't be happier with how well they worked. I used all four sponges to clean the ceiling and will be ordering more to clean the walls. Cleaning was tedious but not difficult as they magically picked up the soot. I like the size of the lips. First I tried cleaning it with water and dish soap, which was a big mistake - it just smeared the soot around.

There was a guest in my house who used my gas fireplace and didn't know how to open the chimney. These sponges are slowly but surely removing soot from my walls and doors. Nothing else I've used has worked at all. You have to press hard, but if you rub the sponge it will start to deteriorate. This is probably why the packaging says to rub in parallel lines, not rub. I was surprised that they can be washed and reused. I just wish I didn't have to push so hard.
