Combined with a pair of clips, they keep your project straight during assembly. They work great and cost fair. You can make these items yourself, but they are cheap and durable enough to justify the purchase. I use them every time I twist things at right angles. They are great for bookshelves and shelves and even picture frames. It's amazing how a silly little plastic square can help in a shop!

I purchased this set of mounting brackets to help me assemble (2) bookshelves for a customer. As some people have complained, they aren't "perfectly" straight/square. If you need this straightness you should buy/use a machine square. Of the (4) I received only one was slightly out of order - maybe 1/64. To keep the bookshelves I built square they worked great. When the glue was dry I removed the squares and measured diagonally. Result? The hulls were perfectly square. Highly recommended.

I gave them a bad rating in my previous review but would like to change it this way: I wanted to upgrade my original rating for them to 5 stars. Their customer service really tried to solve the problem by sending me 8 new squares for free (compared to the 4 I originally bought and promptly returned) hoping that I would change my mind about their product .
