Dyson Genuine DC07 Assembly DY 904125 51 Review

We have two Dyson vacuums. This one is used about once a week to make stairs and corners in my office and occasionally other parts of the house. When a new hose fails in less than a year, that is far from acceptable. The last tube we had was a spare that lasted 3 years despite a poor fit.

NOTE. I bought this replacement a year ago for my 12 year old Dyson and it still works great! But this replacement hose only lasted a year and then broke again. I'm currently duct-taping it together until I order another replacement. Still cheaper than buying a new vacuum cleaner! My question is: how come the original hose lasted 12 years and the new ones fall apart within a year? Just curious. Still a decent product!

Don't get me wrong it still works but I think it's an aftermarket product. This is the third new hose for my 20 year old Dyson Animal DC7 and this particular hose doesn't want to stay in place so that's another reason I think this is an aftermarket product. So I paid a premium price for Dyson and don't feel like I'm getting a real Dyson hose. Edit: I finally have a hose that "snaps into place" and stays in place. However, I do not believe that this is a genuine Dyson product.

If you are looking for a genuine hose for your old Dyson, this is a great choice. You can no longer get them directly from Dyson. I suspect they may have been in storage somewhere for a while, but this is the only way to get an unused OEM hose. The product was perfect for my old Dyson DC7 Animal vacuum cleaner. My Dyson is about 10 years old. The original hose lasted 9 years with weekly use. Can not complain! I figured this hose would last as long as Dyson makes it. I was wrong!
