Poor timing chain kit

This is by far the worst timing chain kit, the chain is one link shorter than the original and the plastic guides are too thick. Buyers know, don't buy.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not all fit

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works well. the best in sets and kits

Good set good price. If you have variable valve timing, order Dorman Camshaft Bolt 74114, 1 pack. No chain kit supplies them and you will need them. Chevrolet Malibu 2.4 2010 drives great. Calm down too, Happy Happy.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Perfect replacement

Complete set, very well assembled and finished. The only problem is that the timestamps could be better identified as OEM chains. But the price difference is not critical. If you are doing this job on a 2.4, do yourself a favor and get a Dorman chain guide bolt.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I will add later

Fancy components are good for engine parts

Timing chain tensioner would not loosen and broke into pieces after several attempts at assembly. Luckily this was done before assembly was complete as it would have destroyed my motor if it had fallen apart on startup. I had to buy another tensioner from a local dealer. If I had known how to contact a customer service representative I would have asked for a refund.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Something else

The quality is not good. good for timing parts

installed 9000 km ago and the chain is stretched and the tensioner guide is broken. Luckily I didn't blow up my engine, the chain jumped a tooth on the crank. Installed the same kit on my sister-in-law's truck and started her engine due to bad control parts. I have since replaced mine with quality Cloyes parts. Since more than 30 days have passed, the seller only grants a 10% discount on a repeat order. quality is rubbish.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • there are new competitors

Good price but questionable quality

I ordered this timing chain kit for my 2010 Cobalt with 2.2 Ecotec engine. I ordered this kit knowing it didn't come with VVT cam gears. The price was still good. To install the balancer sprockets, use a punch to hold the sprocket in place while loosening the bolt. When tightening the exhaust sprocket bolt included in this kit, one of the teeth on the new sprocket broke off. I had to reinstall an old sprocket that was tightened well using the same technique. The price of this kit may be good…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some cons
