I had gotten a rug for my kid's room, but it was a thinner rag style, and I wanted to be able to have a little more comfort on the hard floor. When I walk into the room now, it's soo soft and has a perfect mix of softness and firmness. You don't sink into it so much that it's hard to walk on, but it has a great soft feeling under foot. Very thick pad. As described. Amazing thickness under the rug ! Soft to sit on now .definitely worth it!The bad -It is very hard and time consuming to cut excess off!The bad-the underside is scratch and will cut your hardwood floor so you need an additional rubber pad.Tip- Also a tip I found useful is to cut the pad a little shorter than the actual rug size so the edge of your rug can fold over the pad . 4.5 stars! I bought this to replace a silicone waffle rug pad that had gotten gross and had left awful marks on our laminate floor (lesson learned). Took this out of the box and was able to put it right down on the floor - no weird smell, no extra folds that had to flatten out. We find the 1/4 sufficiently cushiony on our hard floor. Seems to be doing the trick. We purchased several of these to protect our natural hard wood floors we just had installed. Other types of matts that do not breathe and/or which have abrasive materails can ruin a floor over time. These arrived promptly, well-protected from the elements and were fairly easy to cut down to the appropriate size with a sharp pair of scissors. Lays flat the first time when setting the rug on top but it will "stick" to the underside of your rug a little bit so…

The rug pad arrived a day earlier than anticipated. It was hard to cut with scissors. Thankfully, I have my sewing rotary cutter and cutting mat. It was surely 1/2" thick, which is what made the scissors powerless against the fluff. I am very happy with it. I did purchase anti-slip stickers and put them at each corner of the rug pad. They are securing it to the floor very well. All-in-all, I am very pleased with this rug pad. Thank you!

I figure they are smaller as to not be seen when the rug is on them, but they went too far. Nearly a 8” to 12” short on all sides.

I kept this in my cart for a few weeks. I really wanted a nice thick rug pad, but some of the bad reviews had me nervous. I finally decided to get it. I am so glad that I did! It’s great. I like that the rug pad arrived in a timely manner, it was not difficult to unpack, and most of all, it is exactly the right rug pad for my carpet. I ordered the 12x15 - it is a little larger which is good because I can cut it to the exact size of my carpet. This is a very well-made pad. It arrived nicely-packed, easy to open and unroll.I had to return the 7ft round pad because the rug I ordered to go with it didn't work in my living room. I will be ordering the same pad for the different rug, since I was very satisfied with the quality of the 7 ft pad.

I had purchased an 8x11 felt basics pad from this company before and was really pleased so I thought I would upgrade to this ECO plush variant for a few bucks more. The pad is nicely made and does not shed. We walked on it for a few days to flatten it before placing the rug on. I used heavy duty scissors and a box knife which was not difficult at all. The cuts came out very clean and smooth.I do recommend this product.

I bought this because I was looking for something nontoxic. It still has a noticeable smell for the first two weeks. After airing out the smell has disappeared.

I'm not sure why some reviews indicate that the thickness is less than advertised. Perhaps they source the materials from different vendors across time. The one I received was very good quality and greater than 1/4" in thickness - more like 5/8". This makes my inexpensive area rug feel very plush and nice. It's a great way to add comfort and the illusion of a more expensive rug. I have experienced no slipping, and it's nice and stable on my wood floors.

We just installed vinyl floors and were surprised that only certain rug pads could be used. This company is the only one we found that makes the pad the way it should be made. Ours required a little cutting, which was accomplished with scissors. Thanks for enhancing our carpet!

It is very hard to find rug pads that do not have a rubber backing. These are perfect! Plus, they are made in the USA! FABULOUS!

I like to sit on the floor now and then, but with a terra cotta tiled family room, it was uncomfortable. So I purchased an area rug to add definition to a seating area, but it still was hard when sitting on the rug. I purchased this pad, hoping to make it more comfortable to sit on the floor, and it did the job! I am using this under a relatively thin oriental rug. It definitely raises the level of the rug. I like it. It was confusing about which side goes down as there is a smooth side and a rough one. We were worried the rough side might scratch the wood floor but the smooth side could be slippery under a small rug. I have used the rubberized ones that are thin and I like this type much better.
