Excellent fit for Ford 460 with headers

Wow what a difference in performance and the fact that it's a smaller diameter and not as prone to 'heat' as an OEM starter motor. Great for a Ford 460 with headers!

The starter has more torque than 4 cylinder engines.

Finally an inexpensive starter that runs cool and cranks my big planetary Ford easily the way automatic transmissions multiply horsepower. Also looks good between the headings.

Save money and buy local

The product was not good, tried to facilitate the return but it was too difficult. With no printer and only an internet hotspot on my phone, I gave up, stopped the refund, and ate the $63 plus change. If the starter worked it would be a perfect match for my Ford F250 XLT with a 460ci engine that runs well - it does everything except fill up.

Don't buy to rely on spare parts

Unnecessary starter. 150k 1993 F250 460 petrol engine. After two weeks (maybe 3 days with the truck) the magnetic gear stuck in the open position, sticking out and turning the flywheel while running. It sounded like I had a bad transfer as the transfer didn't come back. It turned out that the plastic fork mount overheated and started binding the fork, causing this problem. I was able to take the starter apart and basically use the outer magnet housing and new brushes and rebuild my original…
