It makes enough for a 9" layer, but this holder will not hold a 9" or 8" two layer cake, let alone a homemade cake. Doesn't work on cakes, but I keep it as a steward for any shallow bowl or plate of pastries.

I bought this cake stand because I needed something to put my Angel Food Cakes in. Perfect for my Angel Food Cakes. The lockable lid snaps on easily and the latches snap tightly so you don't have to worry about opening the cake container when transporting. It has a nice handle for caring for a cake or tart. The green sea foam fits perfectly into my interior. I am very happy with the purchase.

When I first used this product the clip broke trying to open it. I wasn't curious and the container wasn't in the freezer. When I picked it up to take my Bundt cake to market, I also slipped my hand under the carrier because the bottom seemed to sag a bit when it was lifted off the counter. I'm very disappointed in this carrier and definitely can't call it strong. I will ask for a return/refund.

I put a 9 inch cake in it and had a lot of free space. The height was ok. The top of the lid is a bit narrower. I didn't decorate the 9 inch round and put it on the lid but that might cut it short. I don't make puff pastries often, so that's fine with me, but be aware of the height. Overall it serves its purpose. I don't bake often so this works for me. I gave 4 stars because I'm afraid it can't be washed in the dishwasher.

The handle seems a bit flimsy, I would be concerned if I had a heavy bundt cake, so 4 stars. Used for the first time yesterday. The lock worked great and felt very secure. I just wore it downstairs. I'm not crazy about color. White would be nice. In my own order, I bought cardboard cake circles and had trouble getting them to stand up straight. Not this seller's fault. Glad I tried it before putting the cake on it. Slightly shortened and all is well.

Great product for the price! Great if you want to bake a cake in one or two layers. It would be better if the lid didn't tilt up. I used it to make our son a 2 or 3 tier birthday cake. When it was finished and decorated, the lid didn't fit. But after we sliced and ate some, I rearranged it and made decorations to save the leftovers! This is our first use and it seems to be quite durable, definitely for the price range. We recommend it to anyone making a single layer or plain cake. This is work!

What I don't like. A practical and good looking cake stand at a great price with a nice 3 button closure. My plain cookie fit perfectly and stayed fresh for days. Because after a few days he was eaten! The price was spot on and it comes in really handy when you're bringing home-made treats to a friend and want to add some sparkle to them with the reusable packaging. Not that it's necessary, but I need to find a plate that fits the floor so it can be taken out of the carrier at the hostess'…

After reading bad reviews of other cake toppers/carriers/storage the high ratings for this item made me hope that it would work. nope! This won't work for a 9 inch double layer ice cream cake. When I received the package I checked the clips to make sure I understand how it works before putting the cake in.
