best small power tool slide

I carry a lot of mounts and hubs for shooting. This is the best little sled I've ever used. Perfect grip and hits hard. is the weight forward. We usually use engineered hammers that balance in the middle of the handle and this one balances right behind the head. If you need a small sled for a full 12 hours a day then this is my pick.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Best Hammer: Hand Tool

This thing is great, 4 lb head with 16 inch handle is perfect. I'm a tractor-trailer mechanic and I find that 4 pounds is enough to hit things without exhausting yourself and the 16" crank is perfect for getting that leverage when you need it for a good hard hit . The steel bar is also ideal for such shots, you will not damage the bar directly on the head. I liked this hammer so much in my shop that 2 other people bought it.

  • Outstanding Overall

Big Hammer in Kuvaldy

I've had the same Estwing mini slide all my life and I've always wanted a longer handle. Here it is and it met my expectations. You don't have to worry about breaking anything other than what you're swinging at, and any hammer should be. This weight is still comfortable to use with one hand, but you can double it up with two and really hit something. Works great for taking out rotors in one hit almost every time, and the handle cushions most of the impact on your arms.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

I would give 6-7 stars if I could.

I took it on a rock climbing trip with our Rock Hunters Club last weekend. It was the hammer of choice. All other hunters found a reason to borrow it. He broke many stones and struck large chisels. It takes a strong hand to swing it. This is probably too hard for most women and some men. I broke my 2 wooden stick hammers last year and had no intention of it happening again. This was one of my best purchases in recent years.

Terrible quality control

See this picture? It's like the pictures in the fast food joints. What you actually get varies greatly. For "proudly made in the USA" with a hefty price tag and a respected name, you'd expect something decent. In the past that might have been true, but unfortunately not anymore. If you go through all the reviews of their different tools, you will notice a trend; Bent handles, scratches everywhere, large chunks of paint missing, paint bubbling etc etc. This will probably be my first and last Est

Exactly what I needed.

I bought this hammer primarily for chopping wood and driving in ground rods. Due to surgery, I can no longer swing a sledgehammer without risking a hernia. My three-pound blacksmith's hammer doesn't have enough power to drive a wedge in. This works great and splits solid oak without having to guide it with a chainsaw. It's one piece so the head won't come off and if you miss what you hit you're unlikely to break the handle. It's a bit heavy for drilling, but you can choke the handle for more…

Excellent mid-size 4 lb sled.

Excellent hammer drill in typical Estwing quality. I don't have a glued head! Bought their 3lb version with smaller handle, works great. Then I saw this 4 pound handle and wanted it. I'm glad I did. Also bought a 48oz Estwing Big Blue Engineers sled. It's also a long handle, feels like it weighs 4 pounds including the handle, and has a smaller head for tighter applications. In the end all 3, a pleasure to use! Depending on the size, they look great. I also ended up buying a $17 Stanley 3lb for…

Very thin. - Hand tools

Fat is very sad. Value for money from what I see and feel is about half what I expected. Feels reasonably comfortable. Nice view but for now until I beat it. One side of the hammer is curved as if not striking flat. This will cause the fungus to grow. I'm pretty sure I'll be breaking this in less than a week. The only reason I paid $40 for it is because it's a one-piece piece, not that the handle will eventually come off the head. But it looks like it will literally break on the first hit. I…

Great hammer. Professionally used.

I use this hammer every day professionally as a trailer mechanic to install or remove metal parts from other metal parts. For this purpose it worked very well. My last hammer was a steel head with a wooden handle, and I worried about the safety of everyone around me every time I swung it. I was afraid to use a full metal hammer because of the vibration, but the rubber material absorbs vibration surprisingly well. The hammer itself is very well balanced and its movement feels natural. The finish

  • Doubtful purchase for senior citizens

Thor wished he had that hammer.

This hammer is just about perfect when it comes to rotary hammers. As a rotary hammer, this hammer shines brightest when driving chisels, stakes or very big hits, but it's also great for demolition work and, to a lesser extent, metalworking. This 4-pound hammer's head hits like a mini sledgehammer, and the longer handle means you get more power at the expense of accuracy. I've used this hammer for metalworking, although it's not really intended as a blacksmith's hammer, also because the handle…
