Works generally well, unexpected compatibility issues

I really appreciate that this is one of the few products of this type that clearly states that it uses an Ethernet chip. I was specifically looking for a USB-C to Ethernet hub that uses an ASIX chip, which is important for broad compatibility. I saw another review that said this device uses a Realtek ethernet chip but advertises an ASIX chip. At least not in my case. The hub I received uses an ASIX chip as advertised. DOA Electronics Best in Computers & Accessories

Connected... Ethernet port is not working. That does not work. Tried several different connections to the Mac's USB port...nothing.

Works best in laptop accessories

I bought another brand adapter that was a few dollars less but my MacBook Pro crashed and eventually caused a kernel panic. I found this one, ordered it and had no problems at all. I plug it into my MBP and keep the lid closed while connected to my monitor. The adapter gets a little warm, but that doesn't cause any problems. The adapter is compact in size, convenient for you to travel with.

HDMI has issues with docking stations

Everything worked great except HDMI. After spending some time playing around with it, I got it to work with my HP Specter connected to my LG OLED screen, but every time I connected, HDMI gave me a lot of trouble. The screen would just break. I would have to restart my computer a couple of times for it to show up properly. This happened every time I connected, so I returned the product. I have a simple HP USB3 to HDMI adapter that works great. I just wanted all other connections to activate, but

tldr: This device has poorly designed hardware/firmware and contains incorrect/inflated specifications. BUY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. I wanted to use this as a dock where this device stays connected with ethernet and USB-C power and I can just plug and unplug my laptop as needed. Works great
