Sometimes W10 picks up drivers. Sometimes not for this card

I read that W10 detects the hardware and automatically installs the drivers for it. Not so in my case. I think it depends on how old your car is and what equipment you have. My machine is 10 years old but has an early i7 added with at least 8GB of memory. But it turns out it has a working PCIe card slot and fits perfectly. Not my main machine but a side project to see how I can keep it running at a high enough level. A couple of notes: It showed up as an unknown device in Device Manager, not…

Works fine with WMR at gigabyte usb 3.0 was absolute rubbish. DO NOT INSTALL DRIVERS, renesas drivers or whatever they are called are for Windows 7 and Windows XP, do not install them on the latest version of Windows 10. The card works fine even with generic Windows 10 drivers if You install them The driver, the home portal of windows gives you error 15 and you have to uninstall mixed reality completely to fix it. Does this card not have internal front USB 3.0 ports? Why? I think to keep costs…

Works great with Win10 on Gateway DX4850

I have a full-size tower, but I really like that FS-U4 can be used in a mini PC tower. I don't use that as a power source; I have connected an active USB hard drive. It installed flawlessly in the case and was recognized by Windows 10 when it started up without any further help. The data transfer rate from USB 2.0 hard drive through motherboard connector to USB 3.0 hard drive is about 32MB/s (320MB/s). This is much faster than if the same USB 3.0 hard drive was plugged into a USB 2.0 port. It…

High speed but data transfer crashes after short cycles

This card kept failing on an old high performance PC. I put that aside but recently put together a new high end audio/video workstation and decided to give this card another try. M.2 with over 1.8TB of storage and setting the card properties for maximum performance, I've hit speeds of up to 280MB/s. It was awesome and close to the maximum advertised speed of the flash drive itself. However, it kept failing - never been able to move more than 16GB of data without stopping and showing an…

Junk Internal components

This thing was causing my self-sufficient drives to spin down regularly. If they were powered from the USB port I would see them not working properly all the time. These are desktop-sized external drives that have their own power supplies. If you connect directly to a computer or hub using one of the onboard ports, you'll be fine. If they are on this map, they will be disabled. I tried two cards and both had this problem. If you are looking for a totally unreliable card, then this is it! (Note:

Works fine except. the best in computers and accessories

the item arrived as described in a well packed box. The installation went smoothly and Windows 10 immediately recognized the chipset and loaded the latest drivers approved by Microsoft. I have 3 devices, all USB 3 connected to this board. I/O to devices connected to this card and to other devices NOT connected to this card is very fast > 200 MB/s. However, all transfers between devices connected to this card will be slowed down to USB 2 speeds of around 55 MB/s. Not sure why this is…

Low-profile bracket Screw hole on the back

Required to install the low-profile bracket on a USB 3.0 expansion card. Removing and replacing the full-length bracket with a low-profile one was easy. However, when inserting the card into the PCIe slots, I noticed that the screw hole is at the top of the bracket on the right! Compared to a full-size bracket, the threaded hole is correctly positioned on the left side. Luckily the card installation system used a latch. I was able to successfully modify one of the locking flanges and the card…

Fast and reliable - I/O port cards

I ordered this card after having constant problems with my previous USB Wi-Fi card which kept disconnecting every day. Because I use my high-speed fiber optic network to receive and record terrestrial television, I need a reliable connection to avoid program interruptions. This card exceeded the expectations I developed based on previous reviews. It installed with no hiccups using the drivers that came with Windows, and I'm regularly getting 350Mbps to 650Mbps Wi-Fi signals from my Archer 3150…
